At what point are they considered to have quit? They can’t just not show up for work.

They’ll be back once the cheese curd cravings kick in.

Good maybe they can push through some good legislation while they are gone!

GOP might not need Democrats to pass controversial legislation

I wonder how that’s going to go over with wives, kids, and any jobs or businesses they have.

"Good maybe they can push through some good legislation while they are gone!"

They can't. No quorum.

“Wisconsin Democrats could stay away for weeks “ - if they’d taken their constituents along, no one would mind.

Damn public employees. You can’t fire ‘em either! Send the law out to get the Rat Runners or send them their pink slips! The cowardly, lazy bass turds.

...but I’m sure the mistresses and lovers will be happy to cross state lines.

"At what point are they considered to have quit? They can’t just not show up for work."

You're confusing political-world for the real world. In any other job, if you're gone for several days without notice, you've abandoned your job. In the political world, you're not gone until you either resign, or are expelled.

They probably can't expel anyone without a quorum.

Aren’t there laws regarding faithful execution of duties for them?
I would think they could be nailed for abandoning the positions they were elected to perform.

If Wisconsin voters put up with this abdication of duty indefinitely, they deserve such irresponsible state government.

Actually they can. The 3/5ths qourum requirement ONLY applies to fiscal legislation. So they could go ahead with CCW / gun legislation and other non-fiscal laws.

Can this be considered a conspiracy to defraud the State’s Constitutional process?

Life will go on as normal. They do more good when they aren’t in session, and their “business” will still be there when they get back from their silly little journey.

Meanwhile, if I leave my own business for even 2 days, all hell breaks loose and things start to fall apart.

Wisconsin Democrats Could Stay Away for Week

Be still my beating heart!

This is wonderful news! May the world see the tyranny at the top and anarchy on the street, while the union elected flee from doing their job. Wonderful news!

They are all together frying Obama’s chances for re-election right in front of his face, for all the world to see on live tv. Splendid, I tell you.
