Several members of Congress, like Rep. Denny Rehberg (R, MT) and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R.-Wash.) are offering amendments that would prevent any new spending from being used to implement Obamacare. Good for them. Those are important additions to the big spending bill pending in Congress.
But here’s the dirty little secret: Much of Obamacare is being implemented with money that was already appropriated last year. These billions are already available for bureaucrats to put Obamacare into force.
Denying additional funding for Obamacare does not de-fund the huge amounts it already is using for implementation. That requires additional action.
Even though the last Congress failed to pass other appropriations bills (creating the need for the currently-pending spending measure), that former Congress DID provide billions to get Obamacare launched. The money was directly appropriated as part of the health care legislation, rather than included in a separate appropriations bill as is the normal practice.

Nothing prevents the Republican House from defunding the EPA, IRS, etc. in the present bill, and using that as leverage in the Conference Committee to amend the prior bill to strip out the already-appropriated funds. There are LOTS of arrows in Boehner’s quiver, and he damned well better USE them. This is no game, this is about the very future of our nation, our liberties and the viability of our currency. STOP THE SPENDING AND STOP OBAMACARE - THAT’S WHY YOU WERE ELECTED! Stop it the same way it was passed - by ANY means necessary!

There was conservative commentary a few weeks ago to the effect that the Republican House should wait until the next fiscal year before taking real action on cutting spending. The article used the words “Pyrrhic victory” for any success they may have before then. Did anyone see the article?
This Congress needs to move rapidly against everything that was pushed though with the last Congress. That’s how Pelosi and Reed pushed everything through. These newbies need legal council Jim, BIG time!
Here’s a way to resolve all that and more. Pass legislation that requires all departments to remit unspent balances to the Treasury at the end of each fiscal year. Period.
Last I heard, that amounted to hundreds of billions.
How was money appropriated LAST Year for Obamacare when there never a budget passed to appropriate anything?
Take the money already collected and form a Permanent Fund, then give all Americans a percentage of any invested profits.
