With House Republicans and Senate Democrats still far apart on the budget, a government shutdown in March is possible.
At the Tea Party Patriots' summit in Phoenix Friday, activists were split over the prospect.
Some attendees were almost eager for a shutdown. Others hoped Washington would reach a deal in time on spending cuts.

It’d be better to cut week by week and make a week by week spending resolution than to have a shut down and no cuts.
I hope they do not raise the debt ceiling. FORCE them to make the cuts.
And that is what, about 25% of it?
There is no shut down . All social security is paid and the military is paid. Only half of the federal employees go home. But its better than nothing. SHUT IT DOWN!!
It should consist of no pay, per Diem, or travel for the Senate or Congress along with the POTUS and WH workers until it is resolved.
I agree as of late, shut it down and show what actually isn't accomplished for all the money that supports it.
That would be total insanity to contemplate doing such a thing.

We have already past the point of "America as we know it" being lost, we may as well go for broke.

Wonder how many more media can put ‘shutdown’ and ‘Tea Party’ in the same headline.
[This is just a feeble attempt to associate ‘shutdown’ with ‘Tea Party’. So far, only Dems and Newt Gingrich have even brought up the s-word.]
If the Government shuts down will you REALLY notice it in your daily life?
With the devaluation of the dollar and the extreme condition of the US economy, I see no reason to believe their charade in Washington. Our Nation is BROKE, no money, get it? The morons in DC have managed to bankrupt America and this is simply the beginning of the death throes we see coming. Prepare yourselves, a trainwreck is around the corner so whatever they say really doesn’t matter. George Soros and his pals have managed to ruin us and I never thought it would happen this quickly. Obama has accomplished what he was sent to the Whitehouse to do by the Soro’s hate America machine. Sad, very sad.
Can we have a tear-down to go with the shut-down?
