A first-hand look at Wisconsin lawmakers' life on the lam

WOODSTOCK, Ill. — Bob Jauch was here.

The Democratic state senator from Poplar and the rest of the 14 senators who escaped from Wisconsin spent parts of several days last week in this charming northern Illinois town of 22,000 where the movie “Groundhog Day” was filmed.

But why be so evasive? When asked what he’s afraid of, Jauch doesn’t flinch.

“Those Tea Party folks are very harassing,” Jauch said, in an interview conducted under the agreement that the specific location wouldn’t be revealed. “They’re very intimidating. They’re in your face. They don’t care about anything that goes on in Wisconsin, and they’re very disruptive.”

So the senators meet in one location, sleep in other locations and meet with media in still other locations. Invariably, the Tea Party catches up with them, and they switch to new locations.

Good article:

Public employee unions needed? Or harmful?
February 22nd, 2011,by Mark Landsbaum

The hubbub in Wisconsin may end up visiting California soon, considering that we have lots of powerful public unions and fiscal calamity. (Notice how those go hand in hand?)

& poll for freeping:

Government workers should have

* it no better than anyone else
* civil service protection
* collective bargaining
* luxurious health and pension benefits
* #s 2, 3 and 4

If they can’t stand the heat, they can resign their office!

It should be clear to everyone that the Wisconsin "Gang of 14" have demonstrated beyond a shadow of doubt that they aren't worthy of the offices they were elected to, nor are they worthy to represent their constituency. If they were private sector employees they would have been fired a week ago. They're the biggest bunch of crybabies I've seen recently.

Imagine the howls from the Dims and laimstream media if the Republicans in Congress had walked out on the Obamacare vote!

Speaking of resigning, how is the recall effort going?

So one sign waving Tea Party member is “disruptive” and “intimidating” but attempting to derail a duly elected state government’s daily business, organizing hate filled mob rule style riots and giving the tax paying voters a big middle finger is somehow the path of righteousness and truth. Welcome to Dem Bizzaro World.

No idea. I live in Tennessee and I'm in Crested Butte, CO, at the moment. I hope it's going well, though. Every last one of them deserves to be recalled!

As a citizen of Wisconsin, I encourage all you friendlies in Illinois to keep the heat on these guys. Perhaps some of you can be like the “storm chaser” crews in the Plains states.

It is amazing how the left can’t stand three or four people coming up to them and questioning why they aren’t doing their jobs back in Wisconsin. Just shows you how absolute power corrupts and these guys have had absolute power in Madison for decades. Great to see them face the real world for once.

He’s my elected rep, although he has never represented me. I sent him a nice note calling him a coward. It won’t do any good though. Another poster boy for term limits.

HAHAHAHA!!

From your link:

"Later, the paper got a call from Vic Narusis, the neighbor across the street from the “safe house.”

Narusis, who describes himself as a conservative Republican sympathetic to Tea Party ideals, said he and his wife and another neighbor had been noting the Wisconsin license plates across the street for several days.

...In a telephone interview, Narusis made no apologies for outing the Wisconsin fugitives.

...Narusis said he was surprised they chose McHenry County as a hideout.

'McHenry County is the most Republican county in the state of Illinois,” Narusis said. “That was just amazing to me that they chose McHenry County. And that they chose this neighborhood — this neighborhood is unbelievably Republican.”

No surprise. The Dems don't want to be in neighborhoods where drug dealers have shootouts.
