WASHINGTON (AP) -- Black lawmakers accused Republicans on Tuesday of trying to "manufacture tension" between African-Americans and immigrants as GOP House members argued in a hearing that more minorities would be working were it not for illegal immigration.
Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, D-Mo., chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, criticized the hearing's premise in a statement.

Hey you rotten Republicans, leave our voter blocs alone!!!
Hate to tell black lawmakers, but the tension is real between blacks and hispanics, and the black community is resentful, although I understand the resentment between blacks and illegals, but as usual the tensions between blacks and other groups are just resentment on the part of blacks.
To quote a famous freeper above
“Don’t you dare state an obvious truth!”
bttt
Hey! You too!
Stop telling the truth! That is NOT allowed.
Is this the same Emanuel Cleaver that says he got spat on, but can’t find a single video of it despite the THOUSANDS of
people who were there??
Why don’t you go away. We don’t need your racist comments here and all it will do is give this forum a bad name.
Because the dirty little secret is many of his constituents don't want job. But you aren't supposed to say that either.
January 2010 he became chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Cleaver says he will focus the CBC on environmental and energy issues. (since those are the most important issues facing the black community/s)
Cleaver grew up in public housing in Wichita Falls, Texas
supported Trinity United Church of Christ and its former pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
According to BlackMissouri.com., U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois asked Cleaver, If it comes down to the last day and youre the only superdelegate? Do you want to go down in history as the one to prevent a black from winning the White House?” I told him Id think about it,” Cleaver explained. Cleaver said during the course of the primary he’d be shocked if Obama wasn’t the next President but made it clear he still supported Clinton until she suspended her bid.
Clever - A Methodist minister and a once self-professed revolutionary
Cleaver’s been a reliable Democrat who was chosen as House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s(D-Calif.) point man on energy issues to religious leaders and city mayors.
BBEll, I am not elected, so I don’t have to talk “politically correct”.
Time to call it what it is. We have been scared to offend a minority for too long!
Racist? Labels such as this are used continually by the liberals who want people to be afraid of “offending”.
I say what I see: Hispanics work here were I live. Blacks DO NOT!
LOL. AP manages to present the liberal rebuttal to the GOP comment before reporting the comment itself, which is what the article is supposed to primarily be about.

Keep it up and I suspect that the mods will delete you.
Well, the illegals are better educated, work harder and cost less. Other than that, there’s no explanation.
And it has the added advantage of being closer to the right thing to do.
