Above excerpt from 2011 SENATE RESOLUTION 3 which can be read in its entirety at the linked site above.

Symbolic, but unanimous passage also shows the unity of the Republican state Senate members.

Under this resolution, a senator who is absent without leave from two or more session days is subject to a penalty equal to $100 for each day that the senator is absent without leave.

That's not enough.

It has to be large enough that some union's slush fund can't afford to fund it.

I'd prefer $10,000/day, but I'll settle for $1,000/day.

They’ll probably be able to pay for it out of their campaign accounts.

Fine them $1,000/day and assign the money to deficit reduction.

Seriously?!

I would gladly pay $100 a day for a paid day off.

$100? I can spend that at the grocery in the blink of an eye - it's chump change.

What else...five licks with a nerf bat? A shot in the but with a marshmallow gun?

Wait, I know...a one hour suspension of their reserved parking spaces....

(No wonder we can't get people to stop misbehaving)

They should be re-districting, and passing voter ID. Unless there are strict measures to prevent the Unions from reimbursing, this is pointless.

How about making them forego their generous healthcare and retirement packages?

It will make them show up a lot quicker than $100.

(And if I didn’t do my job, I would lose it.....why can they play these nonsesnical games?)

In addition, the senator must reimburse the senate for the actual costs incurred to compel his or her attendance…The senate majority leader may also take certain measures to compel the attendance of any senator who is absent without leave. The resolution also allows the sergeant at arms to request the assistance of any law enforcement officer in this state to find and return any senator who is absent without leave.

The fact that the fleebaggers have to personally reimburse the State of Wisconsin for all expenses, including all costs associated with deploying law enforcement personnel in this matter, will amount to considerably more than $100/day. It could be that this is more than symbolic.

They should add another rule: If an entire party is MIA then the rule that it takes one present for a quorum has been met and a vote may take place.

I was thinking more along the order of $5000 dollars per day, plus 5 days of prison time for every day absent. I’d assume to make this work, the senate would have to issue a summons, specifying the penalties at the time of the summons.

The Governor is not quite ready to really play hard ball with the Rats yet. He’s softening the target. They could pass a residency requirement for all elected officials that would make the Rats technically out of state residents and unable to serve.

One of the things I have loved about the Wisconsin Republicans, they have been trying to NOT get stupid and throw down, they have been very careful to make sure they can still talk with their friends when they return. The Dems only have 13 days or so left.....they have to come back. The Dem that saved the Republican at the mob cornering shows these people all know each other, they are neighbors and colleges. The Dems will return, the votes will be counted. Soon.
