Near dawn break-in attempt by FBI scares, angers family
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | Saturday, March 05, 2011 | Rich Lord

When Gary Adams heard a series of "booms" early Thursday, he figured one of the kids had left the TV on overnight. He had no idea, he said Friday, that law enforcement agents were about to flood his Bellevue house, looking for an accused member of the Manchester OGs gang who once lived there.

A few clock ticks later, agents broke open all three doors into his Orchard Avenue home, shattering glass. Then some 15 Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and state and local police entered his home.

"When I hit that bend and turned," he said, pointing toward the staircase that lands near his front door, "there was a laser sight on my head."

An hour later the agents left, without their suspect, Sondra Hunter, who remained at large. An FBI agent apologized and promised the bureau would pay for the damaged doors, he said. These days, agents don't hesitate to break doors. Several federal agents have been shot in recent years, and some of the 29 accused gangsters whose indictments were unveiled Thursday are accused of gun violations.

The entry to Mr. Adams' house, though, raises the question: Absent a search warrant, when can law enforcement knock in a door?

This incident begs many questions. The main question is why was the FBI breaking down local residents doors? Why weren’t the local law enforcement officials leading this effort?

We have entirely to many FBI agents in this country. There seems to one or more in every village and hamlet in the land.
It seems that our local officials are capitulating their authority over to the feds for no reason at all.

The FBI says they’ll pay for repairs. I wonder how many years that will take to clear the bureaucracy?

An officer should be assigned to guard the home 24/7 until the door is replaced.

“Welcome to the Police State. What do you think the Patriot Act was all about?”

They just have the illusion of power crafted by an incessant media. WE surround them.

Somebody is not doing their job. They are called the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You think they would know all about who was living in that house before the raid.

Web cams to off site storage/websites. However, the homeowner will still be dead.

Is it too much to ask to check with the power company or local tax office, or heck, look in the mailbox and see who the mail is addressed to? I think these assholes just don't care about the public.

I think you're exactly right. They don't give a damn about innocent people anymore, which is a veeeeeery bad sign for our republic. I mean, this is the FBI, for crying out loud, not a bunch of bumbling Barney Fifes.

When the door is closed? Is this a trick question?

Excellent point. I’ve actually thought of that many times... Maybe you could even set up firing lanes in the house: Some walls would stop bullets, some wouldn’t. Some would have gaps or holes in the armor. Only I would know which was which... BANG, BANG, BANG... “Hey, he’s got armor plating in the walls”... BANG, BANG, BANG... “Wrong, a**hole, I left that little gap just for you.”

What happens when they break down the doors on the wrong place again and some poor citizen thinks its a bad guy and gets his gun to protect him or herself and the feds shoot and kill them? Is sorry going to cut it then? How do you pay for that kind of unrepairable damage?

Repairs?? How do they repair this man and his families sense of safety in their own home.

There is no reason police cannot wait until morning when people leave the house to arrest them.

All of these Paramilitary operations are BS.

Waco-—Ruby Ridge.

FBI= 1st home grown terrorists. Ruby Ridge, WACO etc. Plus the “we’ll pay damages translates to the taxpayer will pay the damages.

Yes, but if (AND WHEN) they make the payment, it is an admission of wrong doing...so it may just take forever...

Like a couple of other posters noted, THEY pay nothing, US taxpayers will be paying to fix the door etc.

I love these pompous feds, “Oh, don’t worry, the Bureau will pay the fine, damages etc,”....it all falls under the same BS dream world that says the Government actually makes money (other than printing it).

The only money the Gov ‘makes’ is off the back of US.

My goal is to take at least a couple with me. Maybe then they’ll stop doing this crap and get their intel together.

Unfortunately, that's precisely what it's going to take. This liberty raping horseshit needs to stop, NOW!
