Most of the fruits & veggies around here do not come from Mexico. They come from further into South America. During the winter months that is. In warmer months, it comes from all over.

That may be true but the loss of almost 100% of the Mexico, South Texas and Florida crops has a huge impact upon the total availability in the US.
