Leadership: President Nicolas Sarkozy took the world aback by declaring full diplomatic recognition to Libya's battered, beleaguered rebels. Without going to war, his bold initiative has potential to tip the scales against a tyrant.
That's a good thing, because the odious, violent and anti-American dictatorship of Libya's Moammar Gadhafi has got to go. Sarkozy is taking a risk by bolstering the opposition without completely knowing their aims, but he also opens the door a little wider for freedom with this vote of confidence.
The French president's bold move stands in stark contrast to the paralysis seen in the leader of the free world.
"Going forward," President Obama said on March 3, "we will continue to send a clear message: The violence must stop; Moammar Gadhafi has lost the legitimacy to lead and he must leave; those who perpetrate violence against the Libyan people will be held accountable; and the aspirations of the Libyan people for freedom, democracy and dignity must be met."
Fair enough. But what happens if not? He didn't say.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton clarified his remarks Thursday: "Absent international authorization, the United States acting alone would be stepping into a situation whose consequences are unforeseeable."
Even more discouraging, the nation's top intelligence officer, James Clapper, told Congress Thursday that the Libyan rebels resisting Moammar Gadhafi's 41-year dictatorship were doomed.

While the potus whines about being bullied because of his ears.
I saw that headline and I thought they surrendered to K-Daffy.
As I’ve said before, Sarkozy is the leader of the free world.
Tyrants of the world take heart!
The French are the new tough guys on the block. :)

The depth and breadth of the ideological disconnect between Obama, The Great Pretender, and the people of America and their historical role and position among the nations of the world is immeasurable. The President of France steps into the breach, and just might induce NATO to come to the aid of Libya’s people despite the fecklessness of America’s non-leader.
France may be acting decisively, but if Ghaddafi’s forces do what they’ve been somewhat successfully attempting: taking the rebel-held eastern oil port, it will have missed the opportunity too. A no-fly zone the moment defecting Libyan air force fighters landed in Malta, before the rest of them began firing on civilians, would have been it.
It’s against Zero’s religion to kill Moslems.
You must have forgotten who is President of France
This is a very good thing. The Europeans need to be more forceful in their area of the world. This has the potential to be an immigration nightmare for them, so they need to lead on this. The oil from Libya is by and large for the European market, so again a reason that they need to be the ones to lead.
Despite Obama’s dithering I think US non-intervention is probably the right call. If we can help with intel etc. we should but our planes and pilots should stay right where they are.
I know....I was just being facetious.
Actually, when it comes to running up the white flag, even Jacques Chirac looks like Charlemagne compared to the Kenyan usurper we’re currently stuck with.
Thanks Kaslin.
Please tell me this is a joke.
