Back about 1950 Elron made the statement that a true achievement would be to fabricate a world class religion. In this he would seem to have been successful. How he did it remains a mystery. Anyone who has had an initial contact with Scientology and is reasonably normal must pick up on the inherent strangeness of them. I lived in California in the mid-70’s and attended Scientology outreach session along with other pseudoreligions such as EST and Ekancar also had. The Scientologists were by far the best organized and the wierdest. I just wanted to get out as quickly as possible.

My husband and I also attended one of those outreaches. It was billed as a communications class.
After we started asking question after question about where this so called class was going we were asked to leave.
They gave us our money back plus $1 and they told us we would be placed on their enemies list for eternity.
Literally walked us out, with the halls lined with the worker bees and as we passed them they turned their backs to us.
By the time the two us us got to the door we were hysterical with laughter. Got to the door and my husband turned and said in that cartoon voice “that's all folks”. They actual slammed the door and locked it.
What a great day.

Wasn’t Scientology the result of a bet between Hubbard and a college classmate/frat brother?

“How he did it remains a mystery.”

Not a mystery at all...you only need to read “mission earth”...he lays the whole thing right out there wrapped in fiction...(redundant I kow)
