...In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale....
...In January 1981, Krauthammer began his journalistic career, joining The New Republic as a writer and editor....

...on domestic issues, Krauthammer is a supporter of legalized abortion; an opponent of the death penalty; an intelligent design critic and an advocate for the scientific consensus on evolution, calling the religion-science controversy a “false conflict;” a supporter of embryonic stem cell research using embryos discarded by fertility clinics with restrictions in its applications; and a longtime advocate of radically higher energy taxes to induce conservation....

Yeah, quite the conservative...

I had just begun dating a lawyer late in Reagan's second term.

When we got around to discussing politics (usually in the first 5-10 minutes for me, I'm so conservative, liberal men do not interest me) he made some snide jokes about Reagan. When I spiritedly disagreed, he responded with, "Surely you must be kidding! Don't tell me you voted for this dolt twice!"

I quickly decided life was short and dropped him asap.

There are second-tier candidates whom I’d be just as excited about. DeMint, Bachmann and Cain, for example. But I believe that none of those have a chance.

I respect and admire all of the candidates you named, and would support any one of them, should they win the nomination - but - none of them has the executive resume or character qualities to compare with Sarah Palin.

I see Sarah Palin as the very best of our best. When it's time for war, you don't nominate tribal councilors or village elders to the position of Chief Hun, when you've got Attila in your ranks.

Not only do we need to win the battle for choosing the next Chief, that Chief must lead us to victory against the Horde, and everything that stands against us. I only see one warrior amongst us with the right kind of grit to do this.

I am just throwing this out there. I know many conservatives that just don't like her. Can't explain it. I suppose when push comes to shove, they will vote against Obama.

I slightly prefer Pence, but that is now a moot point. Go Sarah, go.

They are perfectly happy to be in power as the minority with liberals running the show - -

That's right. I've watched them when I was working in DC. DC is their home town and they make a good living there whether the Democrats or the Republicans are in power. They don't care which party is in power.

Sarah Palin would not be one of them and would shake up the whole town. That's why they are so scared.

” I got a sick feeling when I heard him say we were going to be a kinder, gentler nation.”

That was the announcement that the party was over. And junior topped it with his “family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande”, “jobs Americans won’t do” and “Islam is a Religion of Peace” idiocy. Stay out da Bushes!

“Buckley embraced him because he saw in Reagan a great force for good, and a kindred spirit of a kind he rarely encountered during his years at Yale, or for that matter, during his long tenure at National Review.”

There is a tendency by Rush to greatly overstate Buckley’s virtue and importance to the conservative movement. He was phoning it in and consorting with the left before Reagan was elected. On the other hand the old guard at National Review included Bill Rusher who led the Draft Goldwater movement, which is where Reagan became a national political figure. Some of that NR crew were more important for Reagan than WFB.

Pretty lame boyo,

Taking imbecilic potshots at conservative leaders while hiding behind political anonymity is not only cowardly but the tactic of a leftist plant or troll.

Stop being a bitter misogynist and tell me,who do you like better?

I am sure you have SOME control over your PDS—well that's a fib really...

Can’t argue with that, she certainly has all the right enemies. My idiot, genius, computer nerd stepson who knows all the buzzwords but can’t cope with life without a keeper despises her. I have never known him to be right about anything to do with politics or government. If he ever says one good thing about her she will lose my vote. That middle aged boy knows less about history than a Raccoon does but he thinks he could counsel Henry Kissinger about world affairs.

Rush should spend the next month exposing the treachery of Boehner and Cantor to the Republican masses, many of whom have never heard of either.

Clark M. Clifford called Reagan the “amicable dunce,” and millions believed Clifford but not enough to elect Mondale!

It’s not that we don’t like Palin. She is most attractive and personable. She was not a good debater with Biden. She let Katie Couric trick her. I don’t think women as a whole will support her for President. Her family life is controversial too. I don’t think she is likely to win more than five or six states, Goldwater style if nominated. I also shudder at her party rivals for the nomination, all of whom are nearly sickening. I will of course vote for her over Obama if the GOP nominates her, and I don’t believe they will.

Let me say this as briefly as possible. The people who think Palin is stupid are the same people who think “rednecks” are stupid and most of them would be looking for a redneck to kill them something to eat if the SHTF.

Most of them are EINOs, EDUCATED in name only, holders of worthless degrees that represent less real education than a year’s experience washing cars. When it gets really bad and it’s coming, count on it, they will be dependent on someone who has a master’s in country boy survival techniques from professor Red Neckerson’s university.
