It sounds to me like she’s upset that they are rudely taking cell phone calls in the library and also like she can’t get an open washing machine on the weekend.

The bigger picture here, for me, is that her self expression rights are about to be stomped all over by people getting all wee-wee’d up over her thoughts.

I support her self expression rights.

My big regret is that if I ranted on youtube about ghetto culture, it would get pulled. Some cultures are more protected than others.

YEP!...and more than that she’s white, and of course it’s forbidden for a white to ever criticize a minority for any reason...believe me, this girl will be pilloried for being a racist before this is over.

Sorry she can’t get a washing macine on the weekend; maybe she should try a little harder.

As for cell phone calls, I’ve been around the block a few times, and, from what I can see, there are as many White kids with ‘em as any other group.

If you don’t want to get “wee-wee’d up” over her rights, then perhaps you should try another thread; the rest of us are commenting on a cultural trend.

Oooo, good point. I wish I had mentioned that in my first post on this subject.

She's an idiot but I don't want her video taken down and I don't want anything to happen to her.

She's an idiot, but any school official who disciplines her in any way needs to be fired.

She won’t have any of her self-expression rights violated. She won’t be arrested or imprisoned. And since UCLA is a public university, they’d open themselves up to a lawsuit if they try to do anything to her either. Although, she’ll probably accept any punishment meekly. I’m sure she’ll continue analogizing like crazy. But actions have consequences and she’ll certainly be mocked and ridiculed for being a major league bimbo. This is one of those things that can seriously hamper one’s ability to get a job. Look what happened to that idiot duck guy from Aflac. Luckily for her, she picked on Asians so the political correctness police might not go after her too much.

I more or less agree with you. I have no issue with having lots of Asian students at the Big U (as we called UCLA back in the '70s when I was there in grad school): most of them have a strong work ethic and excel academically. And, academics is what the university is (and ought to be) about.

That said, students of any background who behave rudely and make noise in the library should be summarily ejected from the library - and perhaps should have their library use privileges suspended for some weeks.

On the laundry room, surprisingly, I can also sympathize. At least back in the day, the laundry room in some dorms at UCLA was free, or cost a fraction of commercial launderettes. A couple of friends who lived in these dorms said that the families of some students came and used them for the entire family's laundry, not just the students, making it impossible to get a machine on weekends.

Students who come to the university from 'diverse' backgrounds for what the university has to offer them, should conform to the university's standards and behaviors, rather than seeking to impose their own.
