More Jobs Americans Won't Do. Unfortunately.
Powerline ^ | March 19,2011 | John Hinderaker

This, from President Obama's speech in Rio today, is the latest sign of America's decline:

In particular, with the new oil finds off Brazil, President Rousseff has said that Brazil wants to be a major supplier of new stable sources of energy, and I've told her that the United States wants to be a major customer, which would be a win-win for both our countries.

Under Obama's new, post-industrial order, petroleum engineering and exploration, drilling and refining are more jobs Americans won't do. Instead, others create wealth and we pay them for it. With what? doesn't seem to be a question that occurs to our President.

It’s the least she can do after BO sent Brazil billions to develop their off shore oil drilling, after shutting ours down.

He just loves handing out someone else’s hard-earned tax money, confiscated from their vanishing pay checks. It makes him feel like a king, distributing favors to make foreigners like him.

Organizing for America better have a few million fraudulent votes in the hopper, because there is going to be a tsunami headed their way in 2012.

I really don't believe they'll be able to manufacture enough fraudulent votes to keep the usurper in power, no matter how much campaign money George Soros launders through prepaid debit cards.

There may be enough sheeple who drink the Obama 2012 pablum from the media that manufactured votes won’t be as critical to them. Not that they won’t use them of course.

I do hope I’m completely wrong.

A great deal of Brazil’s new oil is coming from deep water drilling by American drilling contractors..like Transocean. The equipment required is being financed by EXIM bank guarantee’s.
We should be shouting this to the roof tops..it is ok to do this, but we should be drilling our own oil in addition...deepwater, offshore, Alaska, or the Capital Mall if necessary, but to hinder our own development is criminal. But I guess that’s what criminal Rats do.

How, exactly, is this a win-win policy?

I suppose that sending pieces of paper with green markings on it for useful raw materials and energy that take work, capital, and effort to produce is really a case of us taking advantage of Brazil.

I wonder how long they will let us get away with it.

There is another article at today's Power Line putting a bit more flesh on this bone. Citing a BBC report, it notes that "According to the Brazilian Labour Ministry, 7,550 American citizens were granted a work visa in Brazil in 2010, up from 5,590 the previous year and more than double the number in 2006."

Although not noted in the article, if Brazil has a tax treaty with the United States, as many countries in South and Central America do, making income from U.S. sources nontaxable in Brazil and making income from Brazilian sources nontaxable in the United States, taxes paid by these workers will go to Brazil rather than to the United States. That does not strike me as a great thing for the United States.

If, as the article notes,
Here in the U.S., alarming numbers of people are unemployed or underemployed. In Brazil, "64% of employers find it difficult to fill job vacancies." The Obama administration has deliberately fettered our energy sector in pursuit of "green" goals. No other country in the world is that stupid; certainly not Brazil:
One of the key sectors for foreigners is energy, mostly because of the country's expanding oil and gas exploration industries. There are also opportunities in infrastructure, mining, retail and finance.
A possible but improbable upside for some of this may, I guess, be that an indeterminate number of illegal aliens from south of the border coming to the United States to make more money than they could elsewhere may instead decide to go to Brazil – if they have necessary skills and can get work visas. Should the Brazilian economy boom while that of the United States busts, they may not need significant skills.

Let Obama lecture the Brazilians on why they should not drill and they should ween themselves off hydrocarbons and build windmills for their energy needs. Oh, I forgot, they would tell him to go pound sand. Those kind of things are only for Americans because they must be punished according to the leftist freaks now running the country.

Hey everybody keep your eye on the dough nut not the hole. The straw mans sole job is to is to create poverty, misery(equally),government dependence and control of the people. He is doing a very good job. Also destroying the free market.
