While Ozero was Sleeping: Bibi, Sarah Palin, Israel ILLUSTRATED

From Haaretz:

Israel Defense Forces tank fire struck a home in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday killing four Palestinians and wounding another three, including children from the same family, Gaza hospital officials said.

The IDF said Palestinian militants had launched mortars against Israeli troops Tuesday and the military shot at the source of the firing.

"Regrettably non-combatants were hurt, this is because the Hamas attacks from civilian areas," the military said in a statement. An IDF spokesman added that he is saddended when any uninvolved civilian is hurt.

Israel has stepped up retaliatory strikes since a barrage of rocket fire was aimed at its towns in recent days from Gaza, which is ruled by the Hamas.

Palestinian medics said the dead youths were aged 12, 16 and 17. The 58-year-old owner of the house was also killed.

Locals said four Israeli tank shells struck the building east of Gaza City.

Israel hit a series of Palestinian militant targets in the Gaza Strip earlier Tuesday, damaging smuggling tunnels and suspected weapons sites. Palestinian officials said 19 people were wounded in those attacks.

On Saturday, southern Israel was hit by over 50 rockets, of which Hamas claimed responsibility for 10. The Israeli Air Force struck Gaza targets in retaliation for the bombardment.

On Monday, an IAF fighter jet struck a Gaza tunnel running along the border with Israel, as well as Hamas militants in the northern Gaza strip, an IDF statement confirmed.

From JPost:

France expresses concern over escalation, calls for restraint on all sides; IDF says fired at Kassam launch location, blames Hamas for operating in civilian areas; Hamas: "Escalation will be met with escalation."

The old call for "restraint on all sides" routine.

And furthermore: The Israeli-Palestinian peace process should not be forgotten even while there is unrest taking place in Arab countries and 2011 must be the year that a Palestinian state is created, French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said Tuesday.

Thank you, France, for continuing to be hypocrites when the arab terrorists are so-called palestinians.

Meanwhile, during Purim:

Former US vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, who may run against Barack Obama next year, visits Judaism's holiest site the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City on March 20, 2011 during a private visit to Israel, her first to the Jewish state. Palin is due to with meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tour holy sites.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin arrives at the Western Wall tunnels in Jerusalem's Old City March 20, 2011. Palin began a private visit to Israel on Sunday, her first to the Jewish state, and planned to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tour holy sites.

Apparently there was a lot of press around to get pics of Sarah Palin, but she managed to avoid the photographers quite a bit as there are not many pics of her available.

In this handout image provided by the Israeli Government Press Office, Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (2L) and her husband Todd Palin (L) meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (R) and his wife Sara Netanyahu March 21, 2011 in Jerusalem, Israel. Palin began a private visit to Israel yesterday and is planning to tour holy sites.

From Ynet:

The US politician showed the Netanyahus her new Star of David necklace she had purchased during her visit and mentioned she was extremely happy to see the Purim parades and the festive holiday colors.

Palin signed the prime minister’s residence guestbook before leaving: “Such an amazing country! God bless you. May our connection continue to grow and strengthen.”

video report of Palin's visit

Ynet claims that Palin's visit to Bethlehem was suddenly canceled: Palin was making her way to the city when suddenly her vehicle, approaching the checkpoint, stopped for a few moments and then turned back towards Jerusalem.

However, it had been reported a few days ago that she would not be going to Bethlehem as it had not been cleared in advance with the IDF. Still, it seems that British press is twisting this to make it sound like Palin was clueless:

The Daily Telegraph hinted that Palin was not aware of the fact that Bethlehem is not Israeli territory, saying this is a common mistake amongst foreign tourists but not amongst politicians.

For anyone who isn't aware, including President Ozero, last week, a massacre occurred in the small village of Itamar:

from Ynet:Horror in Samaria: A terrorist infiltrated the West Bank settlement of Itamar, southeast of Nablus, early Saturday and stabbed five family members to death.

The shocking attack occurred around 1 am as the terrorist entered the family home and murdered three children aged 11, 3, and a baby girl along with their parents. The victims were apparently sleeping as the killer came in.

Itamar residents reported that shots were heard in the area; the terrorist managed to flee the scene.

What kind of filthy, sub-human vermin stabs children, including a 3 month old baby, while they are sleeping?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with Haim Fogel on the phone Saturday evening to offer condolences and support.

"It's a cold-blooded massacre of innocent children and parents," the prime minister said. "I, and the entire nation of Israel, embrace you and the three grandchildren who survived the horror. I promise to do everything we can in order to assist you at these terrible times."

Rabbi Yaakov Cohen, a neighbor who discovered the bodies, said that the Fogel's 12-year-old daughter knocked on his door around 12:45 am Saturday. She said that no one opened the door at her home, and that there are muddy footprints at the entrance.

"I took my weapon and we went up to the back window of the house, where we saw one of the surviving children," Cohen said. "He was sitting in the center of the living room, where there was no sign of blood, only mud."

They then asked the boy to open the front door.

"The daughter went into one of the rooms, and saw the horror before I did," Cohen said. "I entered and saw that another boy survived, a two-year-old. He was lying next to his bleeding parents, shaking them with his hands and trying to get them to wake them up, while crying."

The Ozero adminstration "response" has been to maintain that the settlements are illegitimate.

You are likely to hear condemnation of Israel from Ozero and France about this latest situation in Gaza.

There is a uniting of Jews and Evangelical Christians. Even though Jews have problems with the Roman Catholic church, they have much fewer problems with non0Catholic Christians.

There is a revival of sorts going on world wide with many Jews coming to accept that Jesus is their long awaited for Messiah. These are usually referred to as Messianic Jews and they for the most part accept the New Testament as acceptable documentatio or revelation of exactly whu Jesus (Yeshua) is.

Evangelical Christians are for the most part supportive of Israel and are openly working to help Israel any way they can.

Sarah Palin is definately evangelical Christian and she is fully suipportive of Israel. She is also very smart and fully realizes that the ongoing problems between teh Jews and the Arabs are the Arabs fault and it is the Arabs inciting the violence.

Bibi Netanyahu has been claimed to have stated that he wondered why the ultra orthodox Jews are so dedicated to rebuilding the Temple when the ultimate sacrifice has already been made. Bibi seems to be very acceptable of and to the evangelical Christian denominations even though Israel’s own ultra orthodox are often opposed to him.

Over 10 years ago, I was aware of a group of at least 70 orthodox Israeli Rabbis who have reached the conclusion that Jesus is the Messiah but they are unable to publically come out acknowledging that due to the uproar that will result.

I must also add that my wife and are very conservative fundamental Christians and my wife also wears a Star of David in support of Israel.

I would refer you to the following site: http://www.threemacs.org/themes/jewish/answers.htm for further info about the relationship growing between Christians and Jews.

For years I've tried to figure out why Jews (majority) in this country are so blind.

They will be blinded until the day of the Gentile be fulfilled, according to my Bible. How can there be any other explanation, than what God has said?

I have had several Jewish friends two were Christian, the rest while wonderful people were agnostic at best, atheists at worst.

All I did was ask if anyone thought if it was weird for her to have the Star of David on.

Nope, your comment is as old as time, It was asked for one reason only.

"Hath God said?

On that score Palin looks to be a top contender.

I believe Palin would run a presidential campaign unlike we've seen a Republican run a presidential campaign in our lifetime. She's not Dole, not McCain. She wouldn't hold back, and she'd take no prisoners. She'd be out to win.

You’re absolutely right. Didn’t really want to go into the spiritual side of it but really, there is no other explanation is there? Some clearly ‘get it’ though and so an explanation for that minority escapes me as well. Why are they not blind? It is a mystery.

I was very involved with a Christian ministry that was very active in uniting Evangelical Christians and Jews. I traveled to Israel back in 2000 with that ministry.

Incidentally, those friends of mine also had close friends in the highest levels of Israel's government and those high ranking persons are the source of the comments tying Bibi to that comment.

During our trip, we were blessed to have Gershon Salomon who is the head of the Temple Mount Faithful group http://www.templemountfaithful.org/ in Israel come and address our small group of 20 people.

Gersholn has quite a miraculous story to tell of when he was run over by a tank and spent a long time recovering from his back problems which resulted. He also shared some other things with us which I am not at liberty to reveal at this time.

There are various groups in Israel which are set on bringing back Temple worship as was practiced so many years ago and other groups which are equally opposed to building another Temple.

Based upon everything that I have read and heard, Bibi is of the latter group but he can't make any public statements due to the political situation in existence in Israel.

I personally have the highest regard for Bibi and what he is trying to do. Not everything is as ti seems and the Israeli government is being forced to walk a tightrope because of the pressure being exerted by the U.S.

I am certain that Israel would very much like to tell the U.S. where to go but is exercising restraint because there is still great support for Israel here in the U.S. despite the Marxist communist party which seems to have taken over the Dem party here. I believe that Israel is biding it's time in hopes that Odumbo will be removed from office and the U.S. will return to actively supporting Israel.

I used to wonder about what the bible said would be the entire world coming against Israel in the last days because I simply couldn’t conceive of the U.S. ever turning it's back on Israel. However, I have come to realize that many in high office here in the U.S. are quite willing to sacrifice Israel and even the U.S. itself just to further their own elision's of world leadership.

I like that photo of the Palins and Netanyahus standing together. Wouldn't that make a lovely official White House photo in January 2013?

She’s wearing it to honor Israel - I think it’s a nice gesture.

She’s a private citizen, not the President so she can wear whatever she likes. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem - God’s chosen people.

How such brilliant people can be so wrong is beyond me-not for being anti-Palin, but for being Pro-Obama. It is stunning to me. While anecdotal, it is very telling to me that not one has soured on Obama. Just don't get it.

Mark Levin and many others have explained it. They put their love of leftist politics above all else. It's like that for most liberals - the state before the individual.

It is ironic that Sarah loves Israel while Obama secretly wishes Israel was gone. Sarah will be lucky to get 20% of the American Jewish vote. It's the nature of Politics.

America must always stand by Israel. I am sure the Israelis will be cheering in the streets "when" Sarah wins.

That’s spelled “yarmulke,” more commonly known as a kippah. You are correct that it is a sign of respect for all men, whether Jewish or not, to wear them at Temple. (I’ve worn a few of them at the bar or bas mitzvahs of friends’ children.)

Women should wear dresses or suits. At an Orthodox temple, head coverings should also be worn. Stars of David aren’t part of the dress code.
