“Do you seriously think she can win?”

Hell yes, in a landslide. And that goes double if the Stupid Party gets off their stupid butts and deploys fearless, aggressive poll watchers. People who will tackle and handcuff demonrat criminals and hold them for the police.

Here's the landslide I'm thinking of (1980, Reagan BLUE, Carter RED):

I don't get this certainty. The claim is that the Republican elites don't like her. A lot of Freepers don't think she is the best candidate either. Rightly or wrongly, that means that she has opposition even within the party in which she needs overwhelming support to get elected.

What makes you think that all those people, and all those people affected by PDS, and a significant number of those people who voted for Obama in 2008, are suddenly going to reverse their "crazy" thinking about Palin and see things her way? They haven't done it in the last two plus years --what makes you think it will happen in the next year and a half? Where is the evidence that she has the abiility to swing over so many people who, as of now, don't like or support her?

Do you understand that you personally are not representative of the electorate as a whole? Neither am I, for that matter. If we were, I strongly suspect Obama would not be President today. It does us no good to delude ourselves into believing that our preferred candidate is more popular than he/she is.

Ref posts 48 & 104: landslide

There is a world outside of message boards and talk radio. It's called the real world. It includes not only conservatives but also swing voters and people on the Left.

In 1980, Reagan carried the swing voters and probably a few hardcore Democrats who had never voted for a Republican.

Palin cannot do this. She is not the successor to Reagan no matter how much you wish her to be.
