All they have to do is get a ladder and push a few ceiling tiles out of the way and fire downwards. The protection ends at the ceiling tiles.
I know it would be monumental work for them to do, but it would be easily doable for anyone else.
The only thing that I can come away with positive from something like this is that when these people are caught in a disaster/catastrophe, most will take out each other.

All good ideas but there are a few problems in this specific case.
I'm up in years (on the backside of 60) as is the hapless clerk who runs the express lane. She's a dear sweet (white) woman who's worked at the grocery store for a number of years, always ready with a kind word and smile when she sees me. I'd hate to get her in trouble and she's probably deathly afraid to confront some big strapping black abusing the rules.
And...this is probably the monkey-wrench in any plans to take action. I'm in Texas and the manager of the store is...a Mexican. It's been my experience that blacks and them are quick to cast aside their differences when "whitey" is involved. They constitute a formidable alliance by virtue of their sheer numbers here.
I carry but don't think the outcome would be in my favor. So I just let this type of creeping incivility pass.
As a case in point, the express checkout at a local grocery store has a 15 item limit to expedite customer flow. It’s all too typical to see blacks and Mexicans load up with 50 or more items and abuse it. We white folks (sadly including me) just accept this misbehavior and tolerate it in seething silence. Our fear of confrontation inhibits us from even vocalizing our thoughts with a simple “excuse me?”
Here in Maine, where there are 50 colored people, it’s just ignorant white people that do that. Ignorance knows no race...

I agree with your essential point. One difference is that in a largely homogeneous area, such a Maine, it's not going to create a race riot when calling someone out for misbehavior.
I saw some white teens acting up at a park where I jog (or more aptly, walk at a good pace) a few weeks ago. I had no hesitation at all in giving them a Clint Eastwood-style verbal dressing down. Had it been blacks or Mexicans, my sense of self-preservation would have kicked in and just let the relatively minor infraction go.
You should be ashamed of yourself. What unfortunate stereotyping. When will we ever learn? When will the cannon balls stop flying? Where have all the flowers gone?
I hear 'ya, but the behavior will never cease if not confronted. The Amish are bullies - fight back and they run like rats.
I shop at a Super Walmart in suburban Baltimore, (I know, I know) and it's not the more than 15 items types that bother me so much. It's the people who have a basket that clearly has more than 15 items who then proceed to have the contents rang up as two separate orders. To add insult to injury the Democratic People's Republic of Maryland gives their EBT cards the very Orwellian name of Independence Cards, and often these same customers pay for their orders with an "Independence" Card.
You're right about confronting these b@st@rds; they are bullies. An aside - is it just me, or does behavior like this - unmitigated callous disregard for social order - seem to have become more prevalent since the Immaculation of Lord Hopenchange?
Like another poster said previously, I take solace in the fact that if there were ever a real disaster in this country these vermin would kill each other first.

Oh... You've not heard of "WIOMMHPACPY? Syndrome" yet? It stands for "Why Isn't Obama Making My House Payment and Car Payment Yet?"
Stage 1 is usually noted by an attitude of "Haven't you heard? We Won."
Stage 2 is detected when the subject breaks line and takes on a "Don't you dare say a word about it!" attitude.
Stage 3 is noted when overt verbal abuse accompanies the symptoms of stage 2.
Stage 4 is identified by the subject's blaming of everyone else for voting for Obama and trying to punch their lights out, even though the subject voted for Obama as well. Anyone within striking distance is at risk of injury at this point.
But then again, it could be because momma didn't raise 'em right to begin with..."
So... Maybe there is more to the syndrome than I thought.

What is also true is the “Bell Curve” and the percentage of uncivilized morons and their distribution in society.
6% of the US population commits 50% of the crimes. Something is seriously wrong with these people on the left side of the Bell Curve of civilization
