Dry Run or Wrong Turn? 3 Mid-East Men Try to Enter Calif. Marine Base

Was it just a wrong turn, or something more sinister?

Marine base Camp Pendleton — one of the largest military bases in the country — is reportedly on high alert after three Middle Eastern men tried to enter the base last weekend on multiple occasions in multiple vehicles. And while the men initially claimed they didn’t know each other and simply took a wrong turn, new information from a local gas station about “hateful comments” and “terrorist threats” casts doubt on their story:

KGTV explains some of the shocking details:

According to a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert issued to high-ranking Camp Pendleton officials, someone reported hearing hateful comments and terrorist threats from three men at a gas station in Oceanside Saturday.

Investigators at Camp Pendleton said the men asked the attendant for directions on how to get to Camp Pendleton before they left the gas station.

According to the alert, shortly after midnight Sunday, a rented silver Toyota Corolla driven by Naeem attempted to enter Camp Pendleton through the main gate. As it was being searched, Petrossian and Avanosian drove up in a black Mercedes, but were told to wait. Instead, they continued past the gate and onto the base. Following a short pursuit, the Mercedes was stopped and searched.

No weapons or contraband were found in the Mercedes, but base security noticed the air bag in the steering wheel of the Mercedes had been pulled out and re-attached with duct tape and had wires hanging free, the alert said.

WHY are these guys still alive?!

They blatantly violate the order of an armed gate sentry and live?

Talk about a “WTF” moment!

There are no coincidences where Muslims are concerned. Dry run for a terrorist attack.

Yeah, simple recon to determine how much damage might be possible with a simple car bomb attack.

How close can they get to a major structure or how big a crowd can they draw before.... Booom!

Airbags contain sodium azide

And I think this information is critical to figuring out what they were planning to do.

Armenians are Christians.
Armenians are predominately Christians. To imply that no Armenians are Islamists is neither factual nor accurate. There are plenty of Sunnis there.
I can give links if you like.

RE: “Petrossian and avanosian sound like Armenian names. Armenians are Christians.”

and...........

“With the massive numbers of immigrants in the country today I don’t suppose it would be too difficult to fake IDs, and Armenia being a tiny Christian country surrounded by muslim ones, an Armenian ID would make the most sense for someone who appeared to be middle eastern.”

************

It doesn’t matter what their names supposedly are, their behaviors were extremely suspicious. I don’t like their looks. Period. One can buy ID in parts of L.A. for 20 bucks — not a big deal. Lost on the way to Glendale? LOL —

And yes, Glendale and even Burbank/Hollywood/North Hollywood are more and more overrun with ‘Armenians.’ They are like Muslims in that some are great people and others are total criminals.

The teens have their own gangs get into fights at the high schools and there are groups of somewhat older Armenian males congregating elsewhere, frightening other residents. They fight among themselves, too — like old Mafia families.

They really know how to ‘work’ our entitlement systems and along with Russians, are some of the most notorious at collecting welfare/food stamps/undeserved social security, etc. I see them in local markets every week with their gold jewelry and fancy cars, using food coupons for basics and paying cash for everything else they want that’s not eligible for food coupons.

This sounds like a BAD situation to me and I sure hope these bozos are under constant watch not; they should have been held for extremely tough questioning, actually.

A wrong turn three different times in three different vehicles. Sure thing.

And after they asked for directions to the Camp.

That first guy really looks Armenian (I have been there)
but I am incredulous that an Armenian would go jihad.

Ok, I stand corrected. I know a lot of local Armenians from Glendale and all of them are Christian. Perhaps that’s just the local population.

But also, as some of us suggested, these could be men with fake IDs that list them as Armenian to avoid detection as Islamist terrorists.

Found this facebook site for Armenian muslims.

With this post ---

"In Egypt we have a relatively large Armenian community.. I had several Armenians at school, nut they were older than me so I had no chance to have an Armenian friend.. Armenians a prominent and famous in Egypt for several reason.. We had an Ar...menian Prime Minister in Egyptian contemporary history.. Armenians are famous in Egypt as Architects, they also are famous in making Jewelery, watch menders, cameramen in the Egyptian film industry and they are also famous as also as actors and singers.. In history Arab Muslims seem to have conquered Armenia, and to have dwelt there for some time...May Armenians who live in Egypt have Arabized Armenian names..I mean their Armenian surnames seem to be made up of words having an Arabic meaning..or an Semi-Arabic name.."

They’re Probing...expect every CONUS military base to go on a higher alert very soon if not already there.

You are mostly correct. Armenians are probably 95% Christian. I have a pic somewhere of myself with an Armenian in front of an Armenian church....

Like you I am aghast that Armenians would be involved in a probable terrorist approach.

Armenians and Russians are very happy together and both have a strong dislike for Georgians. To be very generalized...but still it is true.

Right, I more-a-less agree. You can’t just ask God for help; you have to be sincere, have faith, truly believe and actually make a concerted effort to be helped. One cannot passively sit by and wait to be disappointed by God’s apparent inactivity on their behalf. Like you said - live well and be well, live poorly and wallow (again, more-a-less).

Thanks for not taking it the wrong way. My reply was meant to be informative, not as a rebuke.

But also, as some of us suggested, these could be men with fake IDs that list them as Armenian to avoid detection as Islamist terrorists.
Well if law enforcement, at many levels, has done their job properly then there should be no doubt.
If I see any more info on it I'll give you a ping if nobody else has. You'll probably beat me to the thread though. Yours is a hard name to forget and I see some of the threads you visit.

We work with dear people every day who are Armenian. They are good people and quite religious. They seem to be a denomination like Catholics. I believe it’s probably around 95% Christian, in LA. However, these men in question could have been from the ME and not locals at all, or just using false identities.

Your link is just one of many. There's plenty out there showing the religious make up of Armenians.
Islam is a small percentage as you say, but it is there. And I don't fault them for legally migrating to the US one bit. I wouldn't want to live in an Islamist country either.
