RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A group of religious non-believers at Fort Bragg is pushing for the U.S. military to make sure they get the same treatment as religious groups.

Soldiers at the post have filed paperwork seeking recognition for their group, called Military Atheists and Secular Humanists. They want to hold meetings at the base, work with the Army's chaplains and have their gatherings listed in a bulletin of religious services.

What ever belief system a person has is his business and no one elses. It is very personal and no one has the right to intrude on it in any fashion. Thank you for your response. JM

How they going to deny them the right to meet when they let Wicca and all the rest of those nut cases practice their religion? We have already given in to too much of this crap.

Are you arguing that a soldier who is a Wiccan shouldn't be allowed to practice his religion?

No, I personally don’t give a damn about Wiccans. What I am saying is that once the military opens the doors to all these other religeous gruops how are they going to get away with shutting doors on other groups.

Our rights are desended from God.

Atheists have no God. Their rights come from man. I say deny them.

They can't, nor should they.

When have you ever seen any “atheist” attack any religion except Christianity (or Judaism)?

We all know it's about "In God We Trust". If they destroy all Christians
they might move on to other religions unless they're the last to die.

“When have you ever seen any “atheist” attack any religion except Christianity (or Judaism)?”

—How about in the many books, speeches, debates, interviews of atheists? Try Hitchens, Dawkins, Dennett, Sam Harris, Bill Maher, etc etc. If you’ve ever read or watched anything by them, I’m not sure how you could have missed it? I would think it was a rhetorical question except you seem to make such statements quite often.

Maybe you stick to Christian websites and books which aren’t likely to quote atheists criticizing Islam?
