POLL: Trump's 'birther' strategy working in NH... (via Drudge)

"A Donald Trump-Mitt Romney showdown in New Hampshire

Looks like Donald Trump's win-the-birthers strategy is working in New Hampshire — and that’s coming at the expense of front-runner Mitt Romney.

Romney leads the first-in-the-nation primary contest in a multitude of scenarios involving difference candidates, often by as much as a 2-1 margin, according to a survey out Tuesday from Public Policy Polling. But when Trump gets into the race, Romney’s edge shrinks to 6 points, 27 percent to 21 percent.

If Trump isn't included in the survey, Romney draws 32 percent of the vote, with Mike Huckabee a distant second at 15 percent.

The difference is the birthers: The Democratic polling shop found that Trump leads Romney among those who doubt President Barack Obama’s citizenship 22 percent to 21 percent. A previous PPP survey found that 42 percent of New Hampshire GOPers don't believe Obama was born in America.

The survey of 384 Republican primary voters in the state has a sampling error of plus or minus 5 percent."

(Don't get me wrong, I believe obama is an illegal alien but they are using the 'birth issue' to rally the base for his reelection)

He is getting them rallied alright. ;-)
When I go out, I'm finding out that more and more liberals are beginning to wonder about him. He will always have those 11% lost souls who say communism is better than the U.S. system of politics and economics, but the rest of them are no longer laughing with him.

Sarah or bust, period end of story. The ONLY reason I didn’t write in the last election was because of Sarah.

I will NO LONGER vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Evil is evil, no matter what pretty package they’re wrapped in.

So again - accept your own reality:

ITS SARAH AND OBAMA

Thank you for your contribution to the collapse of the USA when we get two more Kagans on the court becase of your stubborn devotion to someone who is not only not accounced as running, but will get crushed by obama if she does.

Oh please. Don’t try to feed me your bullshit. You may be a pu$$y RINO but I am not.

This next election determines where America is headed. Sarah is the ONLY one who can turn things around.

Go fool yourself and vote for a wolf....I will not.

It may be that we the people (the sleeping giant) were asleep for far too long. I accept my responsibility for it and beg for forgiveness. Now I will fight, for my transgression, as hard as I can.

However, I will NOT make the same mistake again. I am fully awake and ready to fight. You can cower in the corner if you’d like, your choice.

I choose to stand and get Palin in the White House.

She is nt only not running - but your selfish insistence on her even if it means a 2nd obama term is as bad as theworst obamabot canceliing out the rest of our votes.

Thank you for that, and so does Kagan, Ginsburg, and Sotomayor.

Go f*&$ yourself pal. No one knows who is running for the Republican party because NO ONE HAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED!

There goes your theory!

Only thing is Saul Alinsky tactics are sooo 2008 and don’t work.
Obama can’t use the race card any more. He is just plain failure.

"I tend to agree. It would mean a serious pay cut and much time away from his businesses that have made him a billionaire."

I tend to disagree. Reason is: After making SO much money and obtaining considerable influence, the next step up for ambitious men is more influence/POWER. I don't think Trump is really concerned about not making another billion, or losing money on a political campaign.

Personally, I get weary of hearing about Trump and don't know all his positions on issues as yet. For now, I'm glad he's bringing the "birther" issue to light which could be a defining issue in 2012. Disclaimer: I'm a "birther". A child could see what Obambi is hiding and ask why?

Being a businessman and outsider, Trump could do some good things, fiscally. I've gotten to point where I'm ready to take a chance on anyone who isn't a "professional" DC politician. ANYONE!

Screw Rommie, Hucky, Newty, and all their Pubbie elite buddies. Sarah Palin has too much baggage from the constant mind-washing from the MSM and hasn't bothered to fight back. Bachmann is an unknown at this point, but I'm open. Christie is also a question. Barbour, don't think so. Cain, dark horse?

I'm just hoping for someone to come out of the shadows and articulate what's wrong with current socialist direction of our Nation, and why that never works. That will not only take a person of integrity, but someone who can communicate well, like Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton, and now Bambi. As much as I fought against clinton, he could sell ice in hell. Obambi is pretty close.

Unfortunately, it's all about salesmanship nowadays and not actions. I'm 61 years young and still thank JFK for 13 days in May and standing against the Cuban/Soviet machine and allowing me to grow up. There, was a man of character, who walked the walk. And we all know what Reagan and Thatcher did to bring down the Soviets. I was Navy at the time and know a little about the Soviets and being chased by their subs.

Bottom line: Someone has to explain to America (especially independents) about the big picture and why we are heading down the historical Roman Road to Ruin. Maybe that's Trump, maybe not. I'm open to anyone who will tell it like it is in the most simple terms. Then, in debate, support it with stats and history.

Very well said.

Bachmann is favored by independent voters as she is a tax attorney for the Fair Tax. Yet some people on this forum act like 5 year olds and say SARAH WAS THERE FIRST AND THE TEA PARTY USED HER. I like Palin but SOME NEED to put down the kool aid.If she runs I pray she can pull a Reagan. I pray someone can.

I wish West would run.

I cannot wait for the debate. Sarah will chew the usurper and spit him out.

He is NOTHING without his teleprompter but a man child in an empty suit.

And give Hussein four more years? No way.

If Trump or Mitt needed my vote to carry this state in the general election, they would have no chance of winning.

You're changing the parameters. You said that you'd vote for Mitt over Trump, implying a primary race. By saying that I wouldn't vote for either Trump or Mitt doesn't say how I would vote in the general election.
