Amid the threat of a looming government shutdown, House Speaker John Boehner is getting emotional again.

Per ABC News's Jon Karl, the Republican leader, who is known for his tears, was updating the House GOP caucus this morning on the ongoing budget stand-off when his emotions got the best of him. As he was thanking fellow Republicans for sticking with him amid the tense negotiations, the GOP lawmakers rose to give him a standing ovation, prompting Boehner to weep.

"Yes," a person at the private meeting tells ABC. "He cried, but only briefly."

Real men can control their emotions.

Damn skippy straight. If my dad (a REAL man) were still alive I can imagine how disgusted he'd be with this drama queen.

“hey new here to FR but your right what are these freeps talking about”

Beats the hell out of me, I’ve not seen anything like this crap since I started lurking here way back in ‘98! It’s almost like every 2 of 3 posters came down with the dumb shits all of a sudden! Can’t be because there are too many really smart and grounded people here, so maybe this particular thread just attracted all the cockroaches for some reason or other. I can’t explain it; it’s not even a full moon either.

What a drama queen he turned out to be. There are countless times a man needs to cry. This aint one of em! Was watching Discovery Channel not long ago and special forces training and none of those young guns cried while they were being dropped and failed out of the class left and right. Oh they cursed, spat and bitched up a storm over this and that, but no tears like our beloved Speaker of the House Boehner, third in line to the Presidency!

What an embarrassment he is. I’m sure the libs over at DU are having a ball every time he goes teary Nellie on us.

It seems that this speaker is sold out to the Democrats. Paralyzed by emotion and fear.

. . .

How can you come to that conclusion?

The Dems served up a huge “crap sandwich” to the incoming GOP by not passing their own budget. He thanks Republicans for sticking with him during this fiasco and they give him a standing O in appreciation for the job he’s doing.

If the media wasn’t attacking him for being emotional, their meme would be something a thousand times more vicious and hateful. He cries. So what.

Sold out by emotion and fear? He’s pressing forward for “crying” out loud!

I thought when I looked up his date of birth that I would find he’s a Libra but I was wrong. His birth falls under the sign Sagitarius which is right next to that of Libra. Libra’s are known to be very emotional.

The only Republicans who have any balls are the women.

What a load of sexist crap. A select few republican women get lots of attention on Free Republic for the same reasom they get lots of TV time.

“How in the Hell, did we get this weak kneed crybaby foisted upon us?”

Well, he is a Republican, right?

Yes, and "it's his turn".

As you say ..... Republican clubbiness and unerring sense of whose turn it is.

Remember when it was "Bob Dole's turn"? And then "John McCain's turn"? Well, it's "Romney's turn" and "Boehner's turn" as Speaker.

Bring on the Tea Partiers, I can't wait.

Beyond the clubbiness, it's also the Fortune 500/Chamber of Commerce agenda at work. A lot of the Obozo agenda is also their agenda: "capital formation" of the Boys Downtown via Fed stoking (TARP etc.), ObamaCare to throw Granny in the snow and the voters off employer-paid plans, etc.

Lots of slimy deals going on in back rooms over the last five years have manifested in the Obozo agenda, and Boehner and the RiNO's imho are under orders from the Chamber crowd to fight to lose.

For me, the most maddening part of all this is the crying, spineless eunuch males at the top of the GOP feeding chain are the same ones who are stomping on that glass ceiling to keep the only ones who will fight (the female GOPers like Bachmann and Palin) below it. If we don’t get rid of the “good ole boys” crying club, we’re screwed.

So what's this emo guy gonna do in a real crisis? Boner, just resign and let someone else do the job.

Can you picture RR crying? Sheeeesh.

know I will cry a river over a shutdown. NOT! .... The Obama regime has peaked and is fading into the sunset.

No, the Dems want the shutdown so bad they can't cover it up. They're like a teenager in a Las Vegas whorehouse, they don't know what to do with themselves.

They think it'll be a replay of the 1995 shutdown, with the Media playing their spin and beating the Tea Party into oblivion, as Obama disciplines the black voters to come out for him next year and all the Social Security recipients to remember who's signing their checks. Jerk that chain!

Worked like a charm for Slick and Beast and Little Tommy Dasschole.

Boner is such a sob-sister. His incessant sobbing at the drop of a napkin doesn’t inspire much confidence that he’s up to the job of confronting and facing-down these anti-America zealots from Hell...the DIMs. Time will soon tell. Maybe this is just his ploy to make people think he is weak and ineffective.

If not for the ‘Tea Party’ Republicans wouldn’t have control of the House.

Mike Pence should have the job.
