Amid the threat of a looming government shutdown, House Speaker John Boehner is getting emotional again.

Per ABC News's Jon Karl, the Republican leader, who is known for his tears, was updating the House GOP caucus this morning on the ongoing budget stand-off when his emotions got the best of him. As he was thanking fellow Republicans for sticking with him amid the tense negotiations, the GOP lawmakers rose to give him a standing ovation, prompting Boehner to weep.

"Yes," a person at the private meeting tells ABC. "He cried, but only briefly."

Men who cry over something as stupid as a budget crisis

You're swallowing just what the MSM headline wants you to swallow.

Boehner got a bit teary (he did not bawl) over the show of support of his caucus...not because of the budget.

"I think Boehner is doing great. Obama just came out weak!!!"

You haven't been paying attention.

Boehner tried to agree to only $30 Billion in cuts before the TEA party got up there to yell at him. This crying dope needs 24/7 supervision.

That is my question? How did we and how do we change it now? God help us, we finally get in charge of the House and a man-baby is our leader!

He can cry all he wants, as long as he stands his ground.

He’s still a crybaby. We need a leader that is ruthless, not one who still sucks on a pacifier.

I see he just returned from the Tear Summit.

He’s still a crybaby.

False...crybabies cry because they want their way and/or because they are personally slighted.

Boehner cries about patriotism and country, not out of weak personal character, even though headlines like this will make you think so.

I know I will cry a river over a shutdown. NOT!

The Dems blew it. The Obame regime has peaked and is fading into the sunset.

Do you think George Washington got all blubbery over politics? The man was a leader and probably never shed a tear on the battlefield or in any other situation other than at the funeral of a loved one.

I may be old fashioned, but I can't stand to watch men cry over crap like this. Save it for funerals. Real men can control their emotions.

I see his continual weeping as a symptom of excessive alcohol abuse. He looks the part...and his emotions betray him......too many “3 cocktail lunches”...He is not unstable...he is a drinker.

Hmmm, this clicks. There's always been something about his appearance that's made me think I recognized something in it. That's it.

I says this as a staunch advocate of accepting people's weirdnesses, especially disabling predilictions that should remain private. But we're talking about the Speaker of the House, here, and there is such a thing as a "functional alcoholic."

Which should also be private, if he was truly functional. But he's developing a record of aiding and abetting the Rats in traditional RINO sabotage form, so it's time to start critical thinking here.

Why would a show of support from the people who elected him to lead make him cry? I’m sure he’s a decent enough fellow, but we need somebody who doesn’t care what his caucus thinks. Boehner has been in DC too long. I simply think he is weak and ineffective, and his constant blubbering may win points from some, but to me, it makes my blood boil.

I am not against Boehner, or the GOP. I am for a show of strength and refusing to capitulate when the minority party makes absurd claims! Starving children, kicking granny out of the wheelchair, and not paying our military. These tactics work every single time for the Democrats. Most of us know why. Do you know why these tactics always work?
