A floundering presidency heading for a fall? Barack Obama hits rock bottom in latest Gallup poll
(London) Telegraph ^ | April 15, 2011 | Nile Gardiner

Posted on 04/16/2011 3:18:05 AM PDT by Zakeet

The latest Gallup Daily tracking three-day average represents a new low for Barack Obama, with just 41 percent of Americans approving his job performance as president. This matches his previous lows in August 2010 and October 2010, just before the mid-term elections, and it is significantly down from his 2011 average of 48 percent. The president’s disapproval rating now stands at 50 percent, the highest point since August last year. In contrast, George W. Bush’s approval rating at this stage of his presidency stood at 70 percent (April 2003), and the average for US presidents in the ninth quarter stands at 57 percent.

Disconcertingly for the White House, his ratings have plummeted among independents, from an average of 44 percent in 2011 to just 35 percent this week, devastating figures if translated at the ballot box in 2012, where securing the independent vote will be vital. Even among Democrats, support for the president is now running at just 77 percent, down four points from the 2011 average, and down seven points from the average for 2009-11.

And if his heavily panned performance this week on the budget deficit is anything to go by, it is unlikely that the president’s ratings will be significantly improving anytime soon. Barack Obama faces an increasingly disillusioned electorate which, as the latest RealClear Politics average of polls shows, overwhelmingly believes the country is heading down the wrong track. With deep-seated fears over the economy, including towering levels of federal debt, dominating voter concerns, the Obama presidency seems destined for another fall, perhaps on an even bigger scale than the setback the Left suffered last November.

Everyone I talk to who is self employed say there profits are WAY DOWN this year. The tax revenue is going to be horrible this year. I wonder what the socialists will say when the revenue figures are released?

Comparisons with George Bush’s ratings are meaningless.

A 41% approval rating is not “Rock Bottom”.
That means 2 out of 5 people would still vote for Obama.
It’s scary to know there are that many idiots running around with the right to vote and no one to make sure they take their meds.

Obama was at 41% last August and again last November -
Now he is back at 41%.

When he drops below 40% and keeps heading down we will be on the right track.

My only question is who are the 41% who feel so good about Barry?

I am encouraged because this is a Gallup poll - which is usually biased toward the left. Further, looking at the poll, it was of adults - which means among registered voters it is even lower and among likely voters it must be in the mid-30's.

That said - the election is not for 18 months, the GOP has a way of shooting themselves in the foot and the press has not begun a President Obama full-court press, yet. Also, if the economy recovers even a little, his numbers could go back to re-elect levels. And the economy will probably get better (the US economy has a habit of recovering despite the worst efforts of a president).

I’m Jewish.... I think Bammy Boy will only get 65% of the J vote this time around. Partly due to his attacks on Israel and part due to attacks on their personal wealth and income. If Trump runs he could easily rope in 40% or more

Ronald Reagan got % of Jewish vote-—>

39% in 1980 when everyone including Jews wanted to get Carter out. Same fate awaits Bammy Boy
31% in 1984-— Jews went back to the Democrat party voting for Mondale

EVERYONE will notice if oil and other commodities like food keep going up. Once oil gets high enough, there will be a tremendous economic downturn. If Obama and his henchman keep pshing for revolution in the ME, look out. We are a much different society than we were in the 1930s or the 1970s. We have feral groups of people who riot at the drop of a hat. Maybe Libya will be the last, but who knows?

I’m not the smartest guy out there but I fail to understand why folks vote against their interests?
Bamma is anti Israel? Jews will still vote for him.
Students are going to pay the bill for all this. And they will still vote for him.
Ladies will vote for him. And he likes guys.

“My, but you have been royally screwed. And many of you don’t even know it.”
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

It’s even worse than that, a lot of young people who have a college degree and an actual fourth to seventh grade education level imagine that they are actually well educated and worldly wise. They can spout the most absurd nonsense with a bearing of confidence in their imagined superior knowledge. Some are beginning to awaken and look around though.

Have you noticed that two out of five people are incredibly stupid?

I don’t think so this time. There is no real recovery and everything I see points toward further collapse.

So it would appear.

The only white guys voting Obama will be gubbermint workers

And there are fewer of those than you might expect. For a generation now the gubmint at all levels has been the leading affirmative action jobs program for women and minorities that the world has ever seen.
