TRIPOLI, Libya – NATO military commanders conceded Tuesday they are unable to stop Moammar Gadhafi's shelling of the rebel-held city of Misrata, where hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties, while Britain said it will dispatch senior military officers to advise the opposition.
Misrata, Libya's third-largest city, has been under siege for nearly two months, with rebels holding on to seaside positions in the port area. In recent days, Libyan troops have pounded the city with shells and rockets.

We are clearly looking at a mental disorder here. Psychological counseling sessions most often begin with “I can’t stop (fill in the blank). I need help.” I think as a first step we need to send NATO military aid in the form of cases of Depends for their leading generals and politicians. They likely have a problem with their urination and defecation, which is causing an embarrassment.

and trying to take out three men mortar units is just peeing in the wind. Not to mention small rocket launchers on pick up trucks moving all the time. Smart bombs are designed to use on stationary target and very slow moving ones.

I’m not being a smartass here, but i don’t follow. Are you saying infantry has to go in and take out the crews before we can drop a JDAM on their positions? I thought that was the whole point of developing precision munitions.
