As I ponder candidates for 2012 and listen to the logic for various Republicans, I am thoughtful of the underlying dynamics that are in the President's favor. The reality of the demographic almost assures Obama's re-election. The best Republican candidate is the one who can reverse these demographic forces.

One tactic is making sure the Obama does not complete his term. Encourage the hardcore Leftists to bring up impeachment charges (don’t underestimate how much they hate him). Hammer on the BC. Use his own tactics of disqualifying the opposition. Win the battle before it starts in earnest.
“What did a gallon of gasoline cost you in 2008?”
“What did a gallon of milk cost you in 2008?”
“If you had an IRA or 401K in 2008, are you better off now?”
“Would you spend your money you actually worked for and paid taxes on for a GM car, truck, SUV built by Government Union workers?”
“Are you looking forward to an Obama Healthcare Czar deciding on just when you become a ‘minus’ in the do-we-give-him/her-the-medicine decision?”
“Do you like your teachers and their unions protesting efforts to remove them from the public dole for teaching our children communism?”
“Do you really want to leave this country, under Obama’s control, to your children and grandchildren?”
This is a BS article.
Bell counts the same liberal groups two or three times to come up with all the demographic groups that will vote for obuma. He does so by renaming the same liberal groups and then counting them as different voting blocks.
For example, he counts liberals as a group voting for obuma. Then he counts unions as voting for obuma. The difference between a liberal and a union member is measured by a gnat hair.

Those are the only realistic choices Trumpet presents.
The people who care the most about beating Obama never voted for him, and we have a bad perspective on how to reach those who did. What arguments are most effective for the 08 supporters? Note that we may “win” those cats by giving them a reason to stay home, many will never vote GOP. A bit of shame might help.
Our favorite issues won’t work now because they did not work in 08. Instead...

There’s one demographic that makes up 51% of the electorate, women voters. We usually lose them by 10 points. In 2010 we won the women’s vote by 1%. That is the one demographic that will make the difference.
So, you voted for a man who had no experience because he told you he’d start a new kind of open politics, end the wars, and put his new bills on CSPAN.
So you thought there must be something behind all that media hype, and you thought Obama would at LEAST be totally different.
But now you feel kinda funny admitting you voted for nothing more than “Hope and Change” and you don’t understand the war in Lybia and you are wondering if you can find your receipt. Ouch.

You can’t win on the birth certificate unless you can produce it. What has been produced is a lot of doubt about his Americanism in the minds of voters and that will remain whether we make it an issue or not.
We can and will defeat him on his record. As long as we have a candidate that will talk about what Obama has been doing to this country, we will win. Let’s prove what he has done and let the voter apply their doubts about him to supply their own reasons to explain his behavior.

I remember a reading from college days, an article by some noted sociologist published in PLAYBOY, when PLAYBOY published articles to buy the magazine for, about how employers hire not for skills on the resume but for personality. Years, decades later I cannot argue with that.
I think that voters, those disengaged from politics, secure and comfortable, vote for personality, or the personality they perceive.
Expose Obambi’s vicious temperament. Use the Mussolini pose photos (why McCain’s campaign didn’t use them is beyond me.)
Heroes of the Left tend to have mean personalities (See Paul Johnson’s book ‘Intellectuals’.)
