Trump Flashback: Reagan Was A "Con" Man Who Couldn’t "Deliver The Goods"

Anyone shocked? Me neither.

Furthermore, are you shocked that on Hannity the other night, Trump expressed how much he liked Reagan. Below the video, you will see an excerpt from his 1989 book, Art of the Deal.

"Trump Flashback: Reagan Was A "Con" Man Who Couldn’t "Deliver The Goods""

That excerpt does not say that Trump said that. Trump clearly said that about Carter. Trump only questioned whether after 7 years is there anything beneath Reagan's smile.

I can't say whether I'd vote for Trump or not but your post is a "con" that "did not deliver the goods" as the title attempts to suggest.

Piss poor post. You can do better and in an honest manner.

Palin, Trump, Romney and Huckabee are the only real choices. The others are too unknown, our best hope for West, Cain, etc. is a VP slot.

So when he uses eminant domain to take your property and build a new trump casino... how will you feel so secure about your castle??

Where’s the quote? Did he actually say word for word what is being claimed. I can’t see where Trump actually said this.

Maybe this is a hit job from the Liberal RINO political establishment.

I need to look into that, but I oppose the use of eminent domain for anything other than absolutely necessary public works (bridges or roads that MUST be built at the most reasonable and cost-effective spot, etc). It didn't stop me from voting for GWB twice, though, and he used eminent domain to build the Ranger's stadium. You have to throw a lot into the hopper - there are no perfect candidates.

So good I am making it my tagline.
“Trump has had a lot of bad hair days.” - Jim Robinson

Trump is a great self-promoter. Treat any good self-promoter with the caution you’d give to a 220V line or a rattlesnake .. and hold on to your wallet. If he raises some interesting points or issues and attacks Obama for his failings, all to the good for the campaign, but that won’t make him the best nominee or a credible Presidential contender.

With all due respect to Jim, good thing he doesn’t speak for all of us and FReepers will not be hand picking the Republican nominee. The “follow the leader” group think here by some is disturbing for those who proclaim to be conservatives.

Not to mention all of the flack that Reagan got from conservatives back in the day... and now he’s worshiped like an idol. When Reagan left Beirut, FReepers would have been calling him an appeaser. When he raised taxes, FReepers would have called him a RINO. And when he granted amnesty, FReepers would have called him a traitor.

In 86 I thought his amnesty was a great idea. Thats back before anyone had a clue what the elitists had in mind as far as transforming the country into a mishmash of disparate dependents. And before anyone knew that the democrats would totally welch on the border enforcement side of the deal.

So, no I wasn't calling Reagan a traitor for his amnesty. But today its my only issue.

Nothing he says or does seems to bother the Trumpkins.

I agree with and like much of what he says, but there are serious flaws in his record that also need to be examined.

One minute Reagan is a con man and an empty suit the next Trump is professing his love for him.

And taking his campaign slogan.
