Expert: Mexican Drug Cartels Infesting US, Even Our National Parks

Lost in the rhetoric about illegal immigration are new reports that Mexican drug cartels have moved into the United States, gaining a major foothold here that may be the start of a permanent expansion onto this side of the border. They're even growing marijuana in our national parks, one expert says. **

Could the cartels really bring this lawlessness and violence into the U.S.?

They already have, and most Americans don't know it. The drug war is here, and there's the potential for much more to come. Not only do the cartels have a widespread system in place in our cities and on our highways to transport and sell drugs; we're seeing more cross-border kidnappings and ransom. The original cartel hit men have been killed or arrested, and they're hiring teenagers in the U.S. who don't have the same level of expertise and leave a lot of collateral damage.

COSTING US BILLIONS

California alone pays to house 107,000 illegals. $3.5 billion was the cost mentioned. Seemed awfully high. Can we pay Mexico to house our (their) prisoners? Be cheaper.

Takes over the political system. That why we have the stand down order on the border? Or “catch and release” those with less than 50 pounds of pot? Try getting busted with 10 pounds of pot anywhere but the border.

Project Gunwalker. Who wanted cartells to have these weapons?

The “Mexican drug cartels” infested our government years ago. How much money and assistance have we given to Mexico which means that it went to the drug and human smugglers? We had a president whose lackeys did everything they could do to aid smugglers and punish law enforcement officers who interfered. Nothing has changed with the current administration.

Our national parks have been under occupation for years. Why nothing is done about this is beyond me. Is even THAT just too prickly a situation from a political standpoint?

And where does Kalifornia get that money? From the rest of us... via the IRS.

Could the cartels really bring this lawlessness and violence into the U.S.?

They already have!

Mexican Drug Cartels operating in at least 1,286 US cities

Snips: The National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) report, according to Jacobson, listed the cartels with the most influence in the U.S. as follows: the Sinaloa cartel, operating in 75 U.S. cities; the Gulf and Zetas cartels, both in 37 cities; the Juarez, in 33 cities; the Beltran Leyva Organization, in 30; La Familia, in 27; and Tijuana, in 21. This list contains the largest and most widely known cartels; the Zetas organization, comprised mostly of Mexican Army special forces soldiers, is considered to be one of the most vicious. The unnamed cities are all said to have seen a substantial increase in drug sales and violence.

Borderland Beat (BB), referencing the same NDIC report on April 11, reported that the expansion of cartel operations into the United States has predictably resulted in increased violence. According to BB, the Intelligence Center information indicated that the Mexican cartels are now operating in at least 1,286 American cities in nine regions — with 143 of these operations controlled directly by cartel members in Mexico.

just sickening. We are fighting wars in three other countries and we can’t even defend our own borders and land. When will the people stop waiting on the government and take the matter into their own hands?

It’s a simple tipping point. Buy the street cops and it just filters up to the upper echelon and legislature. Eventually, no one can try to stop it due to the inordinate number of people already involved. These same bought idiots don’t realize they’re dooming themselves to not knowing who to trust or whether they can walk out their door or whether their kids are going to be kidnapped.
You’re dealing with so much money it makes our corporations look like kindergarteners. We either nationally drug test or we become Mexico.

Don’t anyone wake up Nappy. It would break her lowlife heart to know that the borders are not secure as she claims they are.

Did you read to the end of the article? This woman blames the NRA! AOL is a putrid vat of liberalism.

Blaming the NRA is also a nice attempt at covering up the scandal brewing about the BATF sending guns to Mexico.

we need to reframe our argument on illegal immigration to reflect more of the truth: besides assaults, property crimes, auto theft, etc against citizens, the gangs conflict with the existing black population and kill them, considering blacks inferior to hispanics. Failure to control illegal immigration is equivalent to authorizing slaughter of the black population especially its youth. Let’s see how the left spins That argument!

Went hiking today with a group about 60 miles from the Mexican border. There was a sign warning of illegals and drug trafficking. In the group of 7, we had a .45, .40 & .357 - not quite like the hiking I did in my youth! Didn’t need any of them today, happily.

However, at the picnic ground nearby, I spent an hour hearing only Spanish... ;>(
