Obama is a vessel, a figurehead that was used to get the door to the White House open for the liberal cabal that is currently running the country.
I think this is the most accurate analysis of "who is Obama". He has been codled and groomed for most of his political career. He may occasionally feign an independent decision, but he will always defer to his advisors. I imagine him as a puppet with serveral strong willed or powerful puppet masters tugging him in various directions.
If the Repubs want to take advantage of this situation, they should attack him with a multitude of policy issues, all at once. The cacophony of political advisors will cause him to hesitate, trip up and reveal his weakness. And then, hit him again. FWIW
