Huckabee releasing S.C. team

We’ve been told that former Ark. Gov. Mike Huckabee, a rumored candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is giving his former S.C. supporters the nod to seek work on other presidential campaigns. The word is that he’s told South Carolina staffers that they have his blessing for them to peddle their wares elsewhere. If this is as true as it appears, it’s the second major shakeup. Monday, Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour surprised everyone but himself when he announced that he would not seek the GOP nod.

If true, like Barbour dropping out, this is good news.

An open-borders establishment guy and a nanny-stater out.

Two down (?) and how many more to go?

"I wonder if another candidate will jump in if this is true."

I'm waiting for Lieberman to endorse someone.

Lets hope Romney, Giuliani and Trump make the same decision and let their people go.

NO more liberals, NO more moderates, NO more rinos!

Haley Barbour is a major shakeup? I guess all 1% of us will miss him.

He can also use his show on FOX to take down any republican candidate he chooses to target. Remember how he stepped in to help McCain and went after Rudy

What’s interesting about Barbour and (to some extent) Huckabee is their reluctance to run. Maybe it's a warning sign that things are even worse than we think.

I like Haley Barbour a lot but I can’t view his decision as that big a deal, I think he lacked the star quality at this point.

I still think the eventual nominee isn’t even on the radar screen yet. IMHO it will be a currently sitting Republican governor.

When your wife is adamantly a ‘No Go’ and not just a casual reluctant then it’s time to hang it up or destroy your marriage by dragging them into the Fray of a presidential run which is a animal of a run like no other

please no Huckabee.

Shame Sarah will be attacked as well as Michelle Bachmann off this corrupt media which leaves Christie.
Demint will never get the corrupt media attention either.

So what we have is Newt , Romney, Pawlenty etc

I’m sure the GOP likes losing

I think the opposite is true. They can read the writing on the wall. I think they know that they are unelectable. A couple of cycles ago maybe, but they know the mood of the conservatives is going to rule the day, as it did in the mid-terms. I also think they know they would be targeted by the Tea Party for defeat. Maybe 2 different motivators at work here. I don’t trust Huckster as far as I can throw him, but I do think Barbour is a genuinely good man, has been an excellent Governor, and doesn’t want drag his family through what Sarah has already been through, and what Huckabee wouldn’t have to because the press would love him as the candidate.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Barbour is a West style Conservative, but I know the press would try and destroy him because of their political, and non-political biases.
