some reports say his father and brothers in Saudi Arabia didn’t want the body.

and no, his daughter would have no say in his burial.

Ralph Peters said that the location of his hideout may have been UBL’s fatal mistake. It was a military area where the sound of helicopters would not have been out of place. Somebody at this location would not be alerted by helicopter noises.

Is this officially a “war” .I have lost track. I thought it wasn’t and that is why the Geneva Convention didn’t have to apply.

So how are you suppose to treat an enemy combatant once in your custody.

I would like to know the official position on this to see how the libs view this dumping off the body at sea.

I still don’t get how the noise of the approaching choppers didn’t alert them and give him some time to try and make an escape.

TeeVee talking heads have explained there were plenty of comings and goings of helicopters in the area. They were used to hearing them.

The Tweeter noticed it, and even said something to the effect of a helicopter being a rare occurence.

That and depending on which way the winds were blowing they could of approached with speed and been practically overhead with little to no noise.

Couldn’t it have been a faster, longer-range fixed-wing Navy aircraft, such as a C-2 Greyhound, rather than helicopter, that transported the bullet-ridden cargo the 800-1000 miles to the USS Carl Vinson?

Abbotobad was the home to a Pakistani Army division and its national military academy, described as their version of Sandhurst. I would tend to believe that helicopter flights were common in this area. The same tweeter also said that he thought it was a Pakistani training mission in progress, thus contradicting himself.

There were two people tweeting about it. If they heard it,Osama heard it.

I am more likely to believe a shoot out scenario than one where they quietly snuck in and found him in a bedroom and OSama never knew they were coming.

I’m just quoting media sources. I’ll have to redo my timeline with links. They are the ones claiming it was helicopters used for the attack, transport to Afghanistan, and then transport to Navy ship.

Did any of the locals who reported hearing copters hear any gunfire? Seems they would have heard rocket grenades and AK47s going off for 40 minutes

I don’t think their tweets indicated some big massive attack with rocket propelled grenades and AK47s. More like helicopters and a big explosion.

I can’t get over the furniture in this place.

I figured Osama would be living in a little bit more luxurious surroundings.

The locals who tweeted thought the copters were odd

Not being sarcastic, but has every Muslim we have killed in battle since 9/11 received the “one hour martinizing” Islamic burial?

I hope we caught UBL, claimed he was dead and as we speak, he’s sitting at Gitmo waiting for his 24th straight hour of waterboarding.

Yeah me too. I’ve actually wondered whether the delay in showing pics of his corpse is they wanna have at him for a few days of interrogation before offing him.
