Cain Fill Void in GOP

Herman Cain’s stock is on the rise.

Only one in 10 Republican voters is buying Mitt Romney, but 30% are resigned to his being the nominee.

Party leaders, major donors and rank and file conservative voters all seem to be waiting for someone new and special they can enthusiastically support. That eagerness is apparent in the rise of Herman Cain from obscurity to a 14% second-place showing in our poll. All it took was one solid recitation of pro-business, anti-politician talk at last week’s South Carolina Republican presidential debate.

Conventional wisdom still believes Romney will be the nominee. Romney plans to outspend and outlast his opponents, and is going to Wall Street for much of his revenue. The Washington Post reports that Romney is taking advantage of the financial community’s unhappiness with President Barack Obama. “The approach also means that Romney probably would have far more money than any of his likely Republican primary challengers, none of whom has his deep connections to the financial world,” the Post wrote.

Romney’s challenge is convincing Tea Party conservatives they can trust him. Those voters are, for now, not strongly committed to any candidate. In our poll, the four candidates who would seem to best fit the beliefs of Tea Partiers (Palin, Bachman, Santorum and Gingrich) collectively received a total of just 15%.

I wonder if voters see some of these names, notably Trump, Palin, Gingrich, Bachman and perhaps Huckabee, as more interested in building their personal brands than being really serious about leading the nation.

Cain was is a former FED chair who wants the FED to maintain it’s secrecy. He’s an elitist who supported TARP as well. No thx.

Can you tell me how to get on the mailing list for the Ron Paul campaign talking point of the day?

It would be nice to get a copy of the Ron Paul Alinsky play of the day before it is spread all over the internet.

What Cain actually said was he was indifferent to auditing the Fed. He didn't see a need for it, but he wouldn't block it either. If a bill came across his desk requiring the Fed be audited, he'd sign it.

How does that jive with your statement? It doesn't; your statement is blatenly false.

I’d like him to raise Cain and bring West in as his side-kick. True conservatives are NOT racists. I judge Cain not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character. Cain is a good man in my book and can count on my vote in the Primary and the General Election.

Imagine, if you will, a scenario in which Sarah Palin chooses NOT to run for POTUS but calls a major press conference to announce that she backs the candidacy of ... Herman Cain

It would not even cause me to raise an eyebrow. After all the water has run under the bridge, I think Sarah Palin will be fully content to be a King maker. I do not think the past couple of years have been planned to place her in a position to run for the White House. I feel that she knows the baggage that was piled upon her would exponentially grow with an ambitious announcement. I think she knows she will better serve as a foil for and trailblazer for another Conservative leader of her choosing.

If you look at all of the Herman Cain links that Justsaynomore has provided over time, you will see that Herman Cain has visited several thousands of grass-roots groups, formal dinners, strategic meetings, and every other advantageous soiree he could garner.
