(CNN) - Meghan McCain's taking it all off in a new ad.

The outspoken daughter of former Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain is appearing in a new public service announcement on the Style Network to warn against the dangers of skin exposure.

McCain appears alongside recognizable faces like musician Brandy and actresses Tatyana Ali and Danielle Fishel, among others, seemingly naked to promote the message that "If you leave the house without sunscreen, you might as well be naked."

Thank you. I think I went thru it for this very reason, to help ppl see past the propoganda. I would say John McCains POW experiences probabably contributed more to his melanoma than he may realize, understandably.

The lack of Vitamin D I experienced by following orders after my diagnosis, caused much more harm to me than the melanoma. Both physically and psychologically.

My best advice to ppl who are fearful of Melanoma or other skin cancers is to just take the best care of yourself as possible, enjoy life, and if there’s anything on your skin that doesn’t look right then have it looked at. If the doc says it’s fine and you still don’t feel right, then have it removed and then go on enjoying your life...enjoying being the key word. :)

I’m reading “The Vitamin D Solution”. It certainly appears that inadequate Vitamin D/ inadequate sun exposure contribute to MS, cancers of breast, ovaries, prostate and colon, heart disease amd many others.

Yes. I gave that book to my 'granddaughter in law' -

Since my brush with skin cancer nearly 30 years ago, that I deduced was due to sun-screens, I have read numerous books on the vital need of sunshine for good health.

I have developed my own rule of thumb when it comes to foods, sun, water, air - etc.... If God made it, I'll use it. If man made it or fooled around with it - let 'em give it to a robot.

God made us. Just maybe He also made the things we need for life and optimum health.

the evidence for the dangers of these chemical laden sunscreens has been known for decades. Time to stop it, not mega-advertize them.

I am still amazed by the vast majority of people who still use - and give their children to use - fluoridated toothpaste - and drink the treated water. Good grief, why would anyone use - and give to their children - something that is required to carry this warning: "If you accidentally swallow more than a peas sized amount, seek professional help or contact a poison control center immediately."

(And then they make flavors like 'grape' and 'bubblegum' for children.)

There's a vast difference between natural fluoride and man-made. Anyone who relies on the gov't to protect them from harmful products, is naive. DO YOU OWN RESEARCH, folks.

The Vitamin D problem is already here. My wife had a number of health issues and because she is fair-skinned, she’s always been advised to were sunscreen no matter where she is. Now the Dr. checks the Vitamin D as it is a possible causation for her problems and finds that it is 9, when 60 to 100 is considered normal. So now she’s taking 27,000 units a month by injection to bring her back to normal, The sun is good for you. Get some of it or you may regret it! The Dr. told her that Vitamin D deficiency is a major problem in the US today.

I am very sorry if you think I was directing my comment to you? I wasn’t.

The petty trash talk is childish. Did not most of us talk this way in grade school?

Whether or not it should be on TV is one thing, just as her politics are another.

I agree with you, there is no excuse going out in the direct sun without proper precaution.

But may I ask a question. If this topic had been about a slim, hot looking babe who was baring all to promote better protection form the sun, do you think she would have been trashed as Meghan body was?

I think not, and that is sad. Very sad. Not because the babe wasn’t trashed, but because Meghan was because of her body not being like the babe.

My point was about NOTHING other than this, and why would you think I do not believe you? I spend many hours at a time out doors.

Ehh, built for comfort, not speed. Course she could be Ms. America, and her politics would turn her into Sandra Bernhard.

Do these idiots think you can live in a cave and be healthy?

Is that what you got out of it?

Not me. I got “Use your head and think”

The simple fact is the thinning of the OZONE layer in parts of the world (not to be confused with Global warming) has seen an increase in rates of skin cancer occurrences in these regions. Did they over-dramatize the commercial, perhaps, but what commercial isn't. No, I did not get that these people prompted living in caves and staying away from the Sun. Wasn't it rather to go out protected? Please correct me if I am wrong

Funny you should mention the “Ozone Hole”:

I’ve noticed that every year, the hole in the Arctic gets larger during the Northern hemisphere’s winter, and the hole in the Antarctic gets smaller. Exactly the same thing in reverse happens every Northern summer. Increased cancer rates in these areas? Sure, if the researchers who are there (where nobody ever went before) are counted as legitimate subjects...

From what I’ve found, the difference in UV ray exposure at the height of the “ozone depletion crisis” in northern latitudes was about the same as moving from the Georgia/Florida border to Oaxaca. Big whoop.

Of course, the press never lets anyone know about the “ozone holes” shrinking and closing up, since that isn’t part of the agenda to keep the public in a state of panic and fear.

I refer to the press as “Priests of the Church of Perpetual Panic”.

In other words, the whole “ozone loss because of chloroflourocarbons” and the related “we’re all gonna die from skin cancer” is yet another GREAT BIG LIE (like AGW) foisted on us by enviro-weenies and the government. CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL is the agenda!

Meghan McCain is yet another useful idiot for these manipulators of humanity.

Sure, don’t keep yourself sunburnt. However, look at George Hamilton III: he kept a brutally dark tan for years, yet suffered no major ill effects.

Be sensible about your sun-time, but whatever you do, GET SOME SUN! We have lived under it since we arrived on this planet as a species, and we are designed to be out there in its beneficient rays of warmth!

Australia seems to bare the brunt of many OZONE outbreaks. They come and go.

As for your stating about having a tan, I could not agree more. There are so many benefits of being out in the Sun.

Palin lost a load of weight. She's smoking hot slim (she was already smoking hot.)

She's also bought a house near a liberal friend down South of Phoenix. I can rib him every single day if he's seen his new neighbor.

She makes me smile - lol!

The sun is good for you .....It will turn out that vitamin D deficiency will be the cause of tons of problems down the road.

I have a liberal girl friend (I know I'm somewhat stupid for that) who insists I get too much sun. I just smile at her and tell her the doctors know next to nothing about nutrition and nothing about Vitamin D.
