Mark Steyn: Sarah Palin a better king maker than GOP candidate
The Right Scoop ^ | May 13,2011

Posted on 05/13/2011 6:17:38 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Mark Steyn says he has a soft spot for Tim Pawlenty and believes he may be the last man standing to challenge Obama in 2012. He also says Newt won’t be President and that Trump isn’t conservative and trashes his demonization of China as the single source of all that ails us.

As for Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, Steyn says he wouldn’t advise them to enter the field of 2012 GOP candidates. He says Sarah Palin would make a better king-maker and Huckabee should stick with his successful Fox News show.

I agree with him. Her role in introducing young conservatives to the national state was invaluable. Besides, her family would be miserable in D.C.

Saying Palin should not run is an admission of cowardice.

Exactly.

You know the Palins, intimately, and how they would adjust, or not, to living in the White House, do you ?

Her "role" is running for the GOP nomination and then the presidency; that's it! If she doesn't do that, she has NO future in politics nor punditry.

Spoken like a true lemming. You are a rare but nontheless shining moment of glorious success for Tina Fey and Katie Couric.

Beyond bizarre, dude. Absolutely unreal, but they got to you. Sincere condolences.

Look, I hate to burst your bubble, but Cain isn’t the answer.
He has NO political backing.

Something strange happened today in talk radio.

Neil Boorz (whom I about 3/4 admire) has had Cain sub for him for years and years. Only sub he uses, really.

Cain had asked him to intro/MC him this weekend for an event. Neil regretted, had prior engagements he ‘couldn’t break’.

Now, who will actually present Herman? Hint: that wasn’t a snub on Boorz’s part. Wait and watch.

"She has such low ratings with over half of the country (because of the MSM) that it would make it almost impossible to be elected...but she still has the ear of almost all Republicans..."

Your math doesn't add up, Snoopy. The GOP and the Tea Party combined make up almost 70% of the voter base... only 33% are solid Democrat, and alot of them aren't going to vote for Bambi this time out. You sound like Chris Matthews' answering machine.

Rent a life.

I like Steyn, too......except for the psuedo-intellectual stammering-repeat-and-stammering-repeat of every disjointed sentence he utters. I can’t recall him EVER speaking even one straight sentence or thought without breaking it into two or three segments and stammeringly repeating the words of each segment several times before completing the sentence. To me it is WORSE THAN fingernails on a chalkboard!

... and once she is elected... prepare for the Obamanites to trash the Whitehouse much worse than anything that was done when Clinton left....

Palin should definately, definately run. At very least, she needs to step up to the plate and combat the false themes the lib MSM has tried to box her up with. Even if she doesn’t win the nomination, she will ‘still’ be a kingmaker... so that’s hardly a reason for not entering.

If she doesn’t run, the scumbags in both the MSM and Establishment-GOP will be crowing about how every negative contention they made about her was true, and continue with such babble, trying to actually degrade her status as kingmaker. She’ll do far better out on the stump as a candidate, giving heartburn and occasional body-blows to Obama and the slime in the media.

Okay, lets play a game.............

You run for president and win.

Who do you nominate for each cabinet post?

Who do you nominate for all levels of judgeships?

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO TO PICK?

That's Cain's problem..........for starters and there's so much more.

I find Boorz to be a boob, so if you are saying that he backs Cain, that gives me another reason to not back him.

Are you hinting at Palin doing the job that Boors turned down? If so, I find that hard to believe.

Heh...not sure how your arithmetic works but it sure sounds good! I would think that the election would be over in that case.

She has already announced her candidacy. Every time someone asks her, she answers, "It's way too early."

Think for just one second. Use you brain: is it too early to say you're not going to run?

Not possible. The only way it could be "too early" to answer that question is if the answer is "Yes." For someone who claims insights beyond the obvious, you seem to miss the nose on your face.

Just sayin'.

There is no checking out of this election by any conservative...none. If your choice ends up being Daffy Duck vs. Obama you better the heck get out there and vote for Daffy. We are on the brink in this nation and there can be no checking out when it comes to unseating this fraud in the White House.

"I would think that the election would be over in that case."

Once Sarah announces, it is over. Historic landslide, unprecedented mandate. You'll see. The whole reason most of the players aren't jumping in yet is because they know that once Sarah makes it official, they are just wasting money.

And every time Mark Steyn or Chucky Krauthammer or the NY Post spends millions trying to convince you that the "already dead" Palin is still seriously dead...

...please see what is actually being said.

Let’s play another (sub) game. You’re Rush, Steyn is your and your listenership’s favorite sub, and Steyn goes off and writes an article like this.

Rush gushes over Sarah, but he knows the GOP plumbing and the Bushes have chosen Daniels.

Who now? By letting Steyn kingmake Sarah into Kingmaker, he
has to not sub Steyn anymore if he really wants Sarah, right?

You could deduce that Rush himself prefers Sarah to continue in what she does best, lead we Tea Partiers to swamp up out of nowhere and defeat or very closely defeat RINOs.

If you hear Rush start gushing about Daniels (which he did not today), then zero gets a second term.
