This incident is bound to produce highly charged and contentious trial. May top OJ Simpson saga. Ego and pride of French elite are bruised, and they will move heaven and earth to find a hole in the accusation leveled at Strauss-Kahn. Even if the charge itself turns out be unambigously true, the way the whole thing is to be handled would spur angry response. Whether he is guilty or not, it has a potential to strain relationship between two countries. Especially if the French start to convince themselves that he is being railroaded.
In response, French may cry double standard. He is charged and convicted for rape, but there is a certain well-known U.S. politician who successfully dodged the similar charges: Bill Clinton. Whether French used to like him or not is moot. They could use Clinton's case to get back at Americans.

As well he should be. The IMF needs to be axed.

Most Americans don't care about this guy, to the point where few knew/know who he is. That won't change much, even with the media attention it will get. It's a French/New York angle story.

So what, that still does not exonerate him of rape. If he was set up, could we get this outfit’s number and do the same to zero? Could the Mossad do this?

Not sure folks can completely tune out and ignore it. Once French start to hurl all kinds of names at Americans(they don't discriminate NYers from the rest of the country,) things will change.

Knowing how the Chicago Thug mentality permeates the Stroker Regime, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to find that the French got this right.
What better way to assure the financial demise of the United States than to put someone of the “caliber” of a Timothy Geitner into the top slot of the IMF?
You have to know that George Soros would be more than willing and happy to finance and facilitate such a move. He is deeply imbedded into the inner workings of this Regime.

I think he got set up, too.
Big political struggle going on in France. Sarkozy is happier then hell.

The fact the French look down their noses at Americans is old news. It’s a given. They can hurl epithets all they want, it’ll be taken as the usual tripe from them. We have too many of our own serious problems to worry about, let along get hung up on what the French hate about us now.
As for Strauss-Kahn, the media will hype it up, but it’ll only be a big deal in New York and other socialist havens. The rest of the country will “Ho-hum”...

Given this guy's past, he is the perfect set-up victim if somebody thought he was about to say too much about the Greek situation or if the Powers That Be just wanted someone else in that seat or simply to warn to anyone else in the world financial hierarchy to shut their mouths about the systematic pre-collapse looting currently going on - or else.
Given this guy's past, he is just as likely to be 100% guilty as charged.
There is no good resolution to this one.

An avowed socialist that crashes in $3,000-a-night hotel rooms is exactly what his opponents nicknamed him - a champagne socialist. That’s $125-an-hour. You know what they say: $125-an-hour here, a $125-an-hour there - pretty soon you’re talking real money.
