The Chicken Little Franchise
19 May 2011 | Ron Pickrell

Get ready for the Mother Of All Hypocrisies. It's coming your way on the 22nd of May, courtesy of the leftist media.

This will be the day after the world is predicted to end, by a religious sect that was trained by the network news mob.

Once the world doesn't end, the sect followers will shrug their shoulders and pretend that nothing remarkable occurred and that old news is simply tiresome. The media, of course, will make a great show of rolling their eyes for the cameras and belittling those who would make a practice of profiting from false alarms and dire prediction hoaxes. Across the nation, conservatives will spill their drinks and eyes will blaze.

Of course, having milked as much scorn as they can against the "religious nuts" of the world, the professional journalists will move on to their next segment. And that is where, in the same manner as the Y2K fraud, the ozone hole fraud and countless other media hoaxes, they will do their latest stories about man-made global warming, and how the world will end unless you turn what little national treasure remains over to the U.N. Climate Committee.

Meanwhile, the U.N. Climate Committee, now seeing which way the cold wind is blowing, is quietly cancelling their office utilities, boxing up their belongings to move to another building, and working to again reincarnate under the next media hoax- possibly the "Keep the Moon From Falling Out of Orbit" crisis. Committee. As usual, it should be entertaining, though tiresome at the same time. Bring popcorn and pull up a seat.

Millerism redux. There is nothing new under the sun.

Well, to a lesser degree, folks who believe in the Rapture are a mite embarrassing for those of us who figure the point is to live the way we should rather than hankering for an End Of Days with longing and a perverse glee in the anticipation of the punishment of sinners. John can get away with ‘come soon Lord Jesus’, anyone else is being an immature pain in the butt and should spend their time, thought and treasure caring for the poor, the sick and those in prison rather than lustfully anticipating *anyone* being punished, speculating about the Antichrist and bickering over pre trib vs post trib.

For those who are curious and have not listened to Camping's show (which I have listened to off and on for years for entertainment). I think he ought have a hard time blowing this prediction off when it doesn't happen. He really really seemed convinced he was right and he was not at all ambiguous. He has predicted that a super duper big earthquake and the rapture will happen specifically at sunset May 21 on every square inch of the Earth as they pass through the time zones. I looked it up, and figured the time when it starts: 11:04pm tonight on West coast, 1:04am on East coast.

While I don't expect anything to happen, I will be observing.

You are assuming, of course, that the media will be around on May 22 to make this analysis.

That is one of the most thoughtful statements I have read in awhile. It is refreshing to know that folks who think like you exist. Sad, however, that I don't see that many in my daily life. Maybe that is more a statement about me, though! Thanks for the reply.
