My brother is in Newark, but I haven’t heard from him.

WBAP says this current crop of severe T-storms should be the last tonight — the dryline is passing to the east and it is acting as a front rather than a long string of storms. However, they are generating very strong straight-line winds of 60-70 mph.

Me neither. But apparently these fell a little while ago in DFW.

Looks like we’re clear, heard sirens going off although there were no tornado warnings for our immediate area.

Yep, when you seehear “flashPOW!” it is a bit unnerving. Had three of those a few days ago. When I hear that, I figure I’ve lost another big pine on the place...

Well, if you get worried me, FReepmail me. I’ll drive over there. I’m about 15-20 from there.

We’ve been in and out of the closet all evening, and my poor Freshman begins finals tomorrow.

Thank you, that’s very kind. I sent him an email, he’s probably find (I would call, but it’s late, and I know he has to work, I don’t want to wake him up if he’s alseep). I also sent a message to my other brother to see if he heard from him.
You’re awfully nice to offer. I just didn’t think that they were getting weather up that far to the north west for some reason. I don’t know why, I was focused on Dallas. Dummy me.

I think we’re in the clear too. That was a rough patch. Sirens went off four times. We piled in the hallway at the center of the house for quite a while.

Just talked to my sister in law, she said he said he got some hail and thunderstorms but is fine. :)

Glad you are OK. I wouldn’t ignore them next time though. Those glass windows can be hell on longevity. Stay safe...more headed your way with this last batch.

A tornado touched down south of your brother in the Blue Mound, Saginaw area. But no reports of any touchdowns in Newark. I have a friend in Boyd right next to Newark. He said Newark is fine. All clear. I’m sure he’s fine, but the offer stands if you get too worried.

Good to see this news. Just realized reading through the posts that you had family here.

I’m just across the Texas line in Northwest Louisiana.

I won’t lie, if I saw that, I’d cry.

Very deadly. I don’t care about the vehicles. Imagine driving and that hits you.

I don’t like thinking about that.

I agree, but it just wasn’t bad. I’ve been in “normal” storms for DFW where the building swayed back and forth like a boat on the ocean.

Got home to N Dallas with my 4 year old asleep in the downstairs bathroom.

That’s got to do a number on the vehicles.

You just have no idea how bad it can get. I had a vehicle destroyed, and I do mean destroyed, literally totalled, in what we (in DFW) call the Mayfest '95 storm. It was large, grapefruit-size hail. That car looked like it'd been in a war zone. It couldn't have been more damaged if five grown men had taken a sledgehammer to it.
