I bet they have police scanners though. Maybe an alert could be sent over those frequencies.
And I was wondering how you could be here for that many years and not recognize the name.
Cheers
I was watching the same guy yesterday over the internet as the tornados were in OKC. He kept using the word “tornado” as a verb. I’ve never heard “tornadoing” before.
If conditions are that severe, nobody has any business NOT being in a safe shelter. People should automatically presume the worst. There's hardly much difference between those conditions and a tornado anyway. And they need to hear sirens????
Thank you for posting that..guess I have been on the defensive as I read a blog that slammed the people in Joplin for living there. They never mention where they live and I know there are problems in almost every state. Noted many that were critical were brothers.
I think the map at post 51 would be a great response to any faulting those that lived in Joplin.
F5 - Incredible tornado: 261-318 mph:
Strong frame houses lifted off foundations and carried considerable distances to disintegrate; automobile sized missiles fly through the air in excess of 100 meters; trees debarked; steel re-inforced concrete structures badly damaged.
Greensburg, Kansas, devastated by an F5 category tornado on May 4, 2009
Most of Oregon is fly-over country. There a few counties that control the state. It’s a pretty conservative state once you get out of Portland. See the results of our last govenor’s election. All read except one or two counties.

Prayers for the town and a call to all Christians to motivate their churches to help with the relief effort. Freepers, talk to your Deacons, Bishops, Priests and Pastors and see if there is something your Church can do for the tornado victims.
I also hope and pray that during the rebuilding, homes are constructed with solid walls (bricks, cement blocks, compressed earth blocks or ICF). At the very least, the homes are reconstructed with a safe room. Lets face it, 2x4 stick construction is not as safe as other options.
Did Oregon vote for Obama?
One man said the tornado SOUNDED like a siren.
good point.
Oregon voted for Obama...56% of the vote
prayer bump for all those affected by these tornadoes... such devastation! :o(
COINCIDENCE?
If so God is a terrible bowler - he missed the White House this time just as badly as he missed Judge Greer with all the Florida hurricanes back in 2004. :)
