Do the idiots on the left have jobs in the real world?

Check the following comment to "The Republicans’ Strong Field" in the Washington Post by Ramesh Ponnuru:

karlmarx2, Ponuru is just more evidence that right-wingers don't, or can't, live in reality. Anyone who had a shred of insight or honesty would concede that the GOP field is extremely weak, and that there is a clear reason for this. Namely, the GOP hasn't figured out what to do about the Tea Party wack-jobs who have infested it.

Any of the candidates would be an improvement over the O...

You betcha! As I tell everyone, if the choice is between O and a syphilitic camel, I'm voting for the camel!

As for the rhetorical question leading the post:

Do the idiots on the left have jobs in the real world?

Of course they don't! They all work in academia or left-wing think tanks or on-line rags propped up with foundation money or loonies like Arianna. Or inherited wealth like Van Den Heuvel......

Every day, I log into Facebook and am inundated with blurbs from a Liberal guitar player I’ve known for 40 years. He thinks he’s the sage of Facebook. He hasn’t worked in years and spends all day on Facebook. Then he plays his guitar. Not long ago he went on three job interviews and then goes on Facebook to tell how he told them he doesn’t buy in to corporate BS.
_____________

I have a very similar experience with a 35 year old friend of about 25 years. Only, he works for his Daddy’s company—spending all day on face book judging from the amount of posts I see. His dad is a staunch Republican who built his generator business from the ground up and is a self made, multi-millionaire. Sonny likes to pontificate daily about the evils of republicans and why he is willing to pay more taxes, etc.

As they say: his father is a great man. Sonny is the son of a great man.

Care to explain yourself?.....Who is talking about big tent republicanism?

That's almost to silly to respond to....but here goes.

Status Quo. If you're supporting it, you're supporting big tent republicanism, whether you realize it or not.

LOL -- This is rich, the only reason that the Tea Party exists is because the GOP is dead-set on bigger, more expansive & intrusive governance... and in that way they are exactly the same as the Democrats. (When was the last time the GOP, as a party, actually pressed for one of their stated party-planks: less gun-control? Overturning Roe v. Wade? Responsible, controlled spending?)

I agree. In fact, I think it's truer and easier to say that the GOP is dominated by second-rate Dems who couldn't make it in their preferred ideological Party. These hacks can't get traction in their own Party, so they've come over to ours. We do ourselves no favors voting for second-string Donkeys that can "win." We still lose.

If a conservative can't win in the primary, then you're down to selecting which lib' you want to represent you in the general.
