PALIN TO HIT THE ROAD Thur May 26 2011

Sarah Palin will hit the road this Memorial Day weekend on a tour of the Northeast -- with a stop in New Hampshire -- aboard a red, white and blue bus emblazoned with the words: "One Nation Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty & Justice For All."

Whatever her faults or failings (and no one claims any of these candidates is perfect), on her worst day, Palin is a better choice than “O” ... as an individual, a candidate and as an AMERICAN.

Damn well said, Smarty.

At heart, Palin is one of us - a real American, who loves her country deeply, and who will climb any mountain, suffer any indignity to defend her.

At her best, she has the potential to be an historic American leader, who has the vision and courage to steer this country back onto its natural track of greatness.

I can envision a tour starting on Memorial Day and ending with a formal announcement on the 4th of July someplace like Watts.

Seriously.

I’ll go with her apparent unfamiliarity with the Bush Doctrine with Charlie Gibson, for starters.

You know, the so-called "Bush Doctrine" meant many different things to many different people. When Charlie Gibson asked that question, he never expected Sarah to lob it back in his lap the way she did.

She only wanted clarification on which Bush Doctrine this leftoid media drone was aiming at, in order to avoid the inevitable 'gotcha'.

Charlie played it for all he was worth, and attempted to make it appear as though Sarah didn't have a clue what the question meant at all. Unfortunately, many people on our side bought into his theatrics.

I don't know about that - she could be - she is certainly capable of learning and I expect GREAT things from her in the debate.

Like I said - the crop of Yale Harvard Columbia Ivy league intellectuals that we have picked to lead us the last 50 years have been laughably uneducated.

Sometimes I chuckle thinking that McCain didn’t really have a clue the powerhouse he would be unleashing when he brought Palin to center stage.....it’s quite amusing to think on! ;)

I can still see her when she walked out on the stage in the “sarah way” of doing her own thing. No announcement...and there she was...and everybody laughed!

"She's the equal or better than any of our presidents, outside of the Framers themselves. "

While I agree with nearly every position I've heard her speak on (I think she may be weak on illegals) I think it's absurd to call her the equal or better of any of our Presidents.

Actually it crosses the threshold of the ridiculous.

That said, she's the BEST we have now, today. And she's damn sure good enough.

"Sarah has perhaps the best political instincts of any current politician."

Palin is the best retail politician of the 21st century so far...maybe the best since WWII.

Nobody stumps as effectively as she does. And that includes the current occupant of the White House.

I believe he has even said he would entertain that request if offered.

(Windy strokes his grizzly white goatee)..... Interesting. Very interesting, indeed.

“If she were able to absorb Romney into her fold, then the primaries would in effect be over. Palin / Romney is more than the current pack of gnomes, dwarves and wee folk would be able to contest.”

The cure is worse than the disease. Keep in mind that if elected, mittens would be one haertbeat away from being POTUS. Too risky. Better to simply defeat him in the primaries and take her chances in the general.

If she needs a progressive republican, and I can’t fathom why, then she should pick someone like rudy who won’t go dashing to his manpurse for tissues the first time someone gets nasty with him.

...her VP will be her friend Gov. Perry from Texas.

That would be a major strategic error on her part, in my opinion.

Just the thought of letting another Texas Governor get that close to the presidency so soon after GWB, would be a deal breaker for many Americans.

Sad, but true.

Palin/Ryan 2012

I think this bus tour is a test — not a full campaign yet. She is going to see if she can change the poll numbers by focusing more national attention on her candidacy. If the poll numbers move into winning territory, she will run. If not, she will have focused the primaries to a few candidates and will support one that closely matches her positions. If that person runs, she will take on a cabinet role, probably in Energy or Commerce.

She cannot afford to lose twice.

Her judgement is and has been unimpeachable. I trust it completely.

Now just imagine that judgement sitting in the Oval Office every day......the mind boggles at the possibilities.

Palin/Romney? That's a terrible idea!

I'm so sick of the conventional wisdom that a ticket needs to be "balanced". Screw that. Palin should pick another conservative to run with her and if she does so, she will roll to an easy victory.

Romney screwed the pooch by inflicting socialized health care upon the long-suffering people of Massachusetts. He deserves no place on a GOP ticket.

Thanks, will record the new ratio.

I remember asking you to keep posting the NBCs not long after you started. If I'm not on the list, then it's 30:4.
