Even cutting Biden as much slack as possible, by taking “modern” to mean post-1960’s (which is the entire span of history most ‘Rats seem able to take in), so as to exclude the invasion of North Africa, the Doolittle Raids, D-Day, and the Inchon Landing, his position is breathtakingly stupid: The invasion of Afghanistan under Bush was far bolder (consider who in history successfully subdued Afghanistan before: Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Tamurlane).
