That is a progressive concept. If you’re using the money angle ALL things are connected. Which is why the progressives use it.

What I DID say was that the taxpayer should not have to foot the bill for someone else’e poor choices, and that people should take more responsibility for their actions... and if I recall correctly, self-reliance is one of the cornerstones of conservative thought. Are you honestly trying to insinuate that public benefits should be awarded to those who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, no matter how great the cost? How progressive of you.
For example, I am a hunter. If I am shot while hunting, should someone else be forced to pay the bill? Of course not.
