How desperate is Anthony Weiner to deflect the potential scandal? So much so that he's willing to make jokes at the expense of his own manhood.
On MSNBC this evening, Weiner told Rachel Maddow "I wish" the infamous picture in question was of himself.

This jerk is so guilty. He thought he was sending this “weiner” shot to this girl, not to his entire twitter list. When he realized his mistake, he immediately cried “hacker”. When pressed, he dodged. Why don’t we just write twitter and in five min we can find out the culprit who hacked. Oh no, we don’t need to do that. Why don’t we contact the FBI to get to the bottom of it. Oh, no, we don’t need to make a federal case out of this and really do we need to spend all this tax money to find out I was actually lying and I sent it.

Surprisingly, his dicking around is not going over very well with the New York City TV news media - they are not accepting his BS uncritically, rather they are pointing out the implausibility of his lame excuses and stonewalling, and showing video of Weiner making a fool of himself...

Hmm he keeps changing story. Yesterday he could not say it was or wasn’t a pic of himself. Where is the DOJ (US Congressman’s computer hacked? Wire fraud?) and the House Ethics Committee (Investigating Weiner’s conduct) on all this?!?!
I missed that from old Wolf, since I refuse to watch CNN...but — seriously? “I don’t know what photographs are out there in the world of me.”
It’s just depressing that people like this are holding public office.

I will tell you what he is doing - the same thing as that other great product of Brooklyn, Woody Allen did, when he was caught with Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter: try to talk and joke his way out of it instead of manning up and admitting the truth. Having been raised in Brooklyn, schmucks such as Allen, Weiner and Charles Schumer deeply embarrass me. Interesting how they cannot protect the women in their lives and, with all their glib remarks, they are ultimately unmanly. A couple of times Weiner was invited to my synagogue. I was very unimpressed.
