Hello I’m Mrs. Annie’s daughter I logged it to reply to your post. My mother was a retired RN and Educator. She earned a maters in education and English at Southern university. She got her bachelors in nursing from LSU. She was not a roach nor was she or anyone in our family ever on section 8. What happened to us during Katrina and also this tragedy is Gods will and his alone. I’ll pray for you but I was truley offend by your post. Have a blessed day.

Your anger is misplaced. Not one of my comments was directed at your mother.

If you read the comment string as a whole, you will notice that my comments were related to unions, illegal aliens and the fact that Georgia does not mow along the interstate that often.

You took the comment about Section 8 housing as a hit against your mother and that is not true. If you knew anything about Atlanta, you would know that the city government shut down all of the Section 8 housing a few years ago, causing all of that riff-raff to move to the suburbs.

I am sorry for your loss and I will pray that God will comfort you and your family for your loss.

Do you realise how stupid and silly your comment is? What, you want a hundred guys out along the hiway with pushmowers or something else as stupid. Less lethal equipment, stupid, any equipment can be lethal in a freak accident, even to the operator. Let’s see, oh yes, robots, thats the ticket. Just shut the hiway down completely to all traffic and send in the robots. Oh wait, I see, you are an engineer, well that explains everything.

My brother, riding home from the hosptial after nasal surgery to repair the many breaks (dont ask) was at a traffic stop. The window was cracked. A lawnmower was plying back and forth on the grass on his right. A rock whipped through the window and rebroke his nose and he was streaming blood down his shirt.

His driver could NOT believe it.

He opted to just go home.

I wasn’t angry only offended because I don’t know any workers on section 8. I do know that many who lost their homes were on section 8. My moms death was due to negligence. Since then I see the DOT is going by the book. They have workers with signs guiding traffic as the cars pass only a few at a time. While passing the driver of the equipment has to stop until they’ve passed. None of this was done the day of our accident. I lost my best friend that day and only because I took offense to your comment was why I said what I said. Thank u for your clarification and you have a blessed day.
