Hair 'from Caylee's dead body' found in trunk of her mother's car, FBI expert testifies

An FBI forensic expert said a hair removed from the trunk of Casey Anthony's car is consistent with hair from a dead body.

That was the testimony of Karen Korsberg Lowe Saturday in Anthony's sensational murder trial.

The 25-year old Orlando mother is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

FBI expert Lowe said she examined a light-brown, 9-inch-long hair for this case.

She said the hair was similar to one pulled from Caylee's brush and was not similar to a hair sample from Casey Anthony.

Ms Lowe also said the hair showed characteristics consistent with decomposition.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say the girl was suffocated after duct tape was placed over her mouth.

The defence contends she accidently drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool.

Anthony's attorney challenged Ms Lowe's qualifications as an expert in microscopic hair examinations.

Earlier, crime scene investigator Gerardo Bloise showed the court where he had found a hair in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car.

The investigator searched Anthony's car on July 17, 2008 for clues about the fate of her missing daughter. On Friday, he testified that the odour of human decomposition wafted from the interior as soon as he opened the door.

Gerardo Bloise said: 'My professional opinion is that it was human decomposition.'

They haven’t got to that yet. But the pic of the duck tape with the human hair on it may be one of the worst days.
Have you heard cindy anthony on the 911 tape begging the Police to help find Caylee. OMG, it brought chills.

And then She takes the phone to Casey and she says”why do they want to talk to me? BITCH

I believe Casey is guilty. But I don’t remember a situation like this where the set-up for appeal is clearer- she has had incompetent defense counsel. This defendent does not have an advocate - if it weren’t a death penalty case this would be LOL funny.

It’s been a jaw-dropper. Not a day passes that Baez hasn’t done or said one more outrageous thing in court while the judge and opposition counsel have behaved like adults.

thanks for the link - I can’t seem to open it right now (dial-up) and will try again later.

Yes - the family. If my memory serves me right - the mother was suspicious right away, and then there was a period of time where they appeared to be swayed by their daughter’s lies.

Sorry I didn’t answer about the Duct tape. Some are positing that she used Duck tape to keep Caylee from making sounds. she had been asking people for Xanex. That is the only explaination where Caylee could be while she was partying and spending all day in bed with her BF.
Drugging and duct taping the baby. I guess we will get those answers when the ME testifies. Ton-e said he never saw Caylee after the 7th of June.

That is a wacky system. She should just be provided with an ordinary public defender, but I know they can’t do that with murder cases. Why should she get to choose her lawyers? That’s like saying you’ll give somebody a free car, then wonder whether they’ll choose the Mercedes or the Yugo. Geez, if Johnnie Cochran were alive, would the state also pay to fly him there?

This is why I wish Judge Perry would stop his stupid questions. JP has had to actually reword questions for him.
JP did read him the Rules re Asking good faith questions.

Frankly with Baez asking for a mistrial every morning, he would send the case up on appeal no matter what the Jury does.

This is a question for anyone who might know. Do human remains smell different than let's say, a dead dog or cow would smell? Could an expert recognize a decomposing human over an animal smell?

Hair is hair but this hair was from a decomposing body. Different thing. Not hair that is old like a hair brush. The hair changes when it’s from a dead body.

From what I understand, hair that just falls off doesn’t decompose. It just gets old. Decomposition means it is rotting. The hair in a hair brush or on the floor doesn’t rot. It dries out. Hair from a decomposing body has the moisture from that decomposing body to enable it to rot. Just like the body.

Hey, I don’t know if it’s true, I heard the theory on Court TV, maybe?

There are plenty of sleazy lawyers to be certain.
I don’t know much about this case or anything about that lawyer.
I just wanted to point out that not all of us are sleazy.
There are some competent and ethical defense attorneys with reprehensible clients.
That is ALL I was saying.
Sorry for. not being clear about that

Have an opinion on whether Casey was properly Mirandized? Geraldo says, and the Harvard law professor concurs, that it should have been at the point of the interview at Universal. What a shame if this has to be retried.

I totally agree about Cindy & Casey relationship. I think Casey was used to getting all the attention until Caylee was born. I think Casey hates her mother, had a fight with her the night she left and killed the baby to spite her mother. Pretty sick.
