Let us declare with certitude the obvious: Rep. Anthony Weiner has disgraced his office, and himself, and he needs to quit.

Never mind that he went before the TV cameras yesterday, cried on cue and assumed "responsibility" for a litany of offenses to common decency -- including sending lewd messages and revealing photos to young women on Twitter, and then lying about it.

Repeatedly and egregiously.

But there is a difference between taking "responsibility" for what one has done, and accepting the full consequences of those actions -- which in Weiner's case would require his resignation.

Shameless, classless, no character, no honor; is this the kind of man that should be in a leadership position in the greatest country in the world?

Much as Congressman Weiner would like it to, this ISN'T going away. After a quiet respite of headlines over the weekend, upon which he ducked out of site, the monster he created reared it's ugly head once again this morning in the headlines. This is NOT going away.

His entire purpose in office has been as a whiny screaming attack dog towards the opposition Republicans. He can no longer hold that 'high moral ground' anymore. (not that he ever had it in the first place)
