Bill O'Reilly just gave the results of the poll taken to which 60,000 viewers responded. 60% chose Bachmann; 40% chose Palin. Palin also lost to Obama 55% to 40%. What the hell is going on in the minds of American voters?

"But Palin’s personality is a bit quirky for a number of people."

Probably not for the 30,000-plus who crawl all over each other just to see her speak. Your analyses are puerile, petulant and pointless. You state your opinion and try to import it onto the voting public, probably because you've heard MSNBC and CNN "celebrities" regurgitate the same tired drivel.

As Limbaugh has said (paraphrasing), "Palin will walk away with the GOP nomination. And when she does, Barack Oabama cannot beat her head to head. He just cannot. The only question is, "Will she run?", and even that isn't much of a question any more."

I have more faith in Rush's political analyses than I do your PDS navel gazing. Rush also refereed to Palin's last book as, "The most expansive and detailed Policy Statement I've seen in fifteen years."

You're entitled to your opinion, just make sure you remember that its only your opinion.

Sure, it is my opinion.

But they don’t seem to be jumping up and down about her in Alaska at the moment right now either.

I used to live in Alaska, so before the flames start, yes I know the media up there is against her, blah, blah, blah.

You have to have personality to win the White House in the modern TV era. But Palin’s personality is a bit quirky for a number of people. Add in the fact she doesn’t have a boatload of accomplishments and political experience to offset that, her personality will be the issue with a segment of voters.

Palin has more accomplishments in her political career than Bachmann -- starting with her hometown election as mayor through her 18 months as governor. She certainly has more executive experience governing than Romney has and has won against the big oil companies. Political experience? Tell me again about Romney's Obama care and flip flops on social issues.

Gotta say that as much as I know about Palin, I'm still looking forward to watching the movie.

Either Bachmann and Cain or Palin and Cain.

Either ticket is a winner. Unless Biden gets thrown under the bus and Hillary gets the spot.

Why are we comparing Palin’s accomplishments to Obama or Romney? That seems to be the straw man that shows up in all these debates in these threads. Just because Palin is better than those two doesn’t mean we can’t do a lot better.

Just for one example, I’m not a Herman Cain supporter, but I think that guy has more pertinent lifetime experience governing and managing than Palin.

Managing yes, governing no. And the terms are not interchangeable.

Yeah, I probably should have clarified the governing part. But I’d still argue that Cain has had to do a lot more leading and people management in the course of his life than Sarah did in her half term as Governor. And I think that counts for something.

Absolutely it does. In fact I mentioned Mr. Cain's name on this board a year ago as someone I'd like to see run.

I worry about money and name recognition.

I think he can handle the crap that will come his way, particularly regarding his health.

My nephew worked with him on a couple of projects at Media Research Center. Said he is as nice a person as you would ever want to meet. Was afraid he may be too nice. That is another concern.

“Bill O’Reilly just gave the results of the poll taken to which 60,000 viewers responded. 60% chose Bachmann; 40% chose Palin”

Think back to 1968 (I was there).

Lyndon Johnson was president, and had announced that he would not run again.

There was a young upstart senator campaigning against him — Eugene McCarthy, who was getting a lot of attention early on, and who was doing well against “the establishment candidate”: Hubert H. Humphrey.

As these two battled it out with no clear winner, suddenly a new candidate appeared — Robert Kennedy, the New York Senator. He had “laid back”, not being an “active candidate”, but when the moment came, he jumped into the race and then became “the contender to beat”. But, of course, we know what happened next.

Having written that, let’s look at the 2012 race:
Playing the role of Humphrey — Mitt Romney
Playing “Clean for Gene” — Michelle Bachmann
And in the role of Senator Kennedy — Sarah Palin

Will the campaign of 2012 resemble that of 1968?

Just wonderin’....

If the economy is still in shambles in late Fall, 2011 or early Spring, 2012, it wouldn't surprise me if Obama decides to choose another VP candidate between now and the Democratic National Convention (one who is perceived to be more "moderate" and stronger on the economy, perhaps a Governor).

...and 64% say they will never vote for Palin.

It's disgusting to have Freepers repeatedly post this outright lie. Anyone who does this obviously is either a RINO loving fool or loves Mitt --but I repeat myself :)

This poll and all the other 64% polls are pure garbage. Once Sarah announces the elites and RINOs will hear from the American people.

It’s bullshit. He turned on Palin when she asked him to stop talking over her when she was trying to answer his questions during her last appearance on his show. Since that show, he hasn’t had one good thing to say about her.

Since his poll does not show a running total and since he has had it in for Palin, and in the fact that he is as sleazy as anyone on TV, it is not out of the question that he simply lied and made up the result , again to make Palin look bad.

This is one of those polls where you can vote as many times as you want.

Not so Daisy; not so. I tried. LOL.

Yawn. Journolist at it’s worst. Check the record. Governor Palin stands high above any candidate in the running.

As my HS football coach told me, “The game isn’t played on paper...it’s played on the field!!!”

Once you’re on the field, anything can happen and things can take a life of its own. That’s why BO, DNC, MSM and the RNC elites DON’T want Palin in the race. Once in, with a campaign under her OWN control (not Steve Schmitt, 2008) things can flip and gain momentum. Simply put, they don’t want take a chance. If Barry wins, the RNC elites will just shrugg it off and court Jeb Bush for 2016.

Oh yeah, if we lose, you can write off any attempt to stop Obamacare.

Barry owns this economy with high debt, high unemployment, malaise, and a sluggish economy. If it’s Obama vs “Obama-lite” (aka: it’s my turn mantra with no emotion) Barry wins. If it’s a stark contrast of Barry vs a CONSERVATIVE (who has passion) then we got a shot. That’s why they’re dogpiling on Palin....the elite know she can do it.

Bachmann just disqualified herself with her campaign manager’s trashing of Sarah Palin.

Wasn't aware of that. Does anyone have a source for this? I'd like to read it. I don't doubt it, I just want more info about this. Why the heck do Republicans have to send their nominee into the General Election beaten, battered and torn to shreds and then expect a win in November. Rollins is just another Beltway, Establishment Republican.

One more thing, if they can take Palin down, they’ll just use the same tactic on any other GOP candidate. And if the elites expect Palin & fans just lick up the spittle and sally forth with a happy face (while supporting the RINO candidate) then they’ve got another think coming. The RINOs didn’t give a damn for the Tea Party in 2010 (except lip service) and to see them courting/sweet talking the rank-and-file in the general would be hillarious.

If Sarah loses in the 2012 primaries (and Barry wins the general), will they say in 2016 that it’s “her turn”? Don’t think so...the RNC will just babble and bobble some lamewad excuses that she’s damaged goods or too toxic.

If they can take Palin down, what shot do you think any future conservative candidate will have in the future??? GOP better be carefule or they’ll bite the hand that feeds them. They’ll go the way of the WHIGS.

I've loved Sarah Palin since before McCain picked her as his running mate. But, with people like you supporting her, I understand now why her negatives are so high. People identify candidates by their supporters. Your mean-spirited vitriol and attitude do Sarah a great disservice. I wish you were a Romney supporter. BTW, you're right; you're not a dude. Per Dictionary.com's definition, a dude is a man who takes pride in his clothing, grooming, and manners.
Have a nice evening.
