The Democratic drumbeat for Rep. Anthony Weiner’s resignation is getting louder and louder, with a number of rank-and-file members joining calls for the New York Democrat to go.
In separate statements Wednesday, Democratic Reps. Niki Tsongas (Mass.), Larry Kissell (N.C.), Mike Michaud (Maine), Mike Ross (Ark.) and Joe Donnelly (Ind.) all slammed Weiner's behavior as unbefitting of a U.S. congressman.
“Enough is enough,” Donnelly, who's running against Sen. Dick Lugar (R), told The Associated Press. “It's time for Congressman Weiner to resign.’”

For some Democrats, the decision to go after Weiner came quickly. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), for instance, said Wednesday afternoon that Weiner's fate is "a decision he [Weiner] has to make, just like Sen. [David] Vitter had to make that decision" — a reference to the Louisiana Republican whose phone number appeared on the client list of a high-profile prostitution ring.
Just hours later, Leahy became the second Senate Democrat calling on Weiner to step aside, according to local reports. Sen. Mark Pryor (Ark.) is the other.

When I come on Free Republic and see mob mentality, I am going to point it out.
When out of 15 or so articles, 10 are on this miniscule subject, when we are in illegal wars, have people stealing billions from bailouts, an administration that is killing the economy and a leader who refuses to answer legitimate questions, the emphasis is misplaced. Get it?
Then you will be called out as a Control-Freak who can't let things unwind without your precious input. You don't control anything. You don't barely control anything in your own life, if you look closely enough. You certainly don't get to dictate to others what is important to talk about on web forums.

The reason why our country is so screwed up, is because of these jerks that get elected to Congress.
Weiner is one of the top jerks.
Weiner supports the Obama agenda. He is the Democrat who always puts his skinny face in front of the cameras spouting liberal causes.
I am tired of him, and want him taken out.
The only way he gets taken out is by continually shining a light on the scandal.
If the internet was active when Barney Frank has his little prostitution scandal, he probably would not be in office today. The MSM protected him.
We all know what Barney Frank did in Congress to start this recession. Our country may have been in better shape if his scandal made him resign years ago.

I think he will eventually resign. The Dems in Congress can make it very unpleasant for him to continue in office.

Over on LP, Willie finally took off his mask. He's a flat-out socialist, a Union thug who hates Scott Walker, Oil companies, and -- true to the liberal talking points -- the Koch brothers. It all makes sense now -- he'd play Choo Choo advocate because it was anti-oil and anti-car, and he'd post layoff notice after layoff notice (while the economy was still great) so long as Bush was President.

A politician's currency is trust -- his constituents's trust in him as their representative, and his fellow representative's trust in his word when making deals and compromises. He squandered his trust and has none left to trade with. A caller to Limbaugh said yesterday that she doesn't want a deviant like Weiner making laws that the rest of us have to abide by. I agree with her.
