Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) warns his Republican colleagues on Sunday to not push against U.S. involvement in Libya for partisan gain.
Republicans on Capitol Hill have been pressuring the White House to come to Congress to seek authorization of ongoing air strikes in Libya. And House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has warned that if President Barack Obama did not seek congressional approval, the president would be in violation of the War Powers Act.
McCain, though, suggested during an interview aired Sunday on ABC's "This Week" that the GOP's complaints have little to do with concerns over balance of powers in Washington and are more centered on immediate political gain.
"I would say to my Republican friends, if this were a Republican president, would you be trying to impose these same conditions?" McCain asked. "I caution my friends, both here in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, that we don't want to do anything or pass legislation which would encourage [Libyan leader Muammar] Gadhafi to remain in power."
McCain conceded that there is a degree of "war wariness" that is motivating Republicans, but also said there is "a bit of partisanship" behind the war powers push.

Yes we would and you know it.
If a Republican President were helping Al Qaeda take out Khadafy, yes.
Senator McCain,
First: thank you for your service to the Republic.
Second: Your involvement is no longer required and if you can’t say anything positive about the candidates, then please, just be quiet.
Third: You had your shot and it was exactly the wrong-headed thinking you exhibited and now the kind of criticism you are leveling at the candidates that allowed for the election of the most inept, unqualified and unmitigated failure we now have as President.
Fourth: Sit down. Be quiet. Nod your head politely. Don’t get involved. We just don’t need anymore of the people that created the problems we now have, telling us what and who we need to fix them.
In closing: Pop the top on an Ensure, turn on the Golden Girls or whatever you do when you are not attacking your own and fade into history.

The very existence of the War Powers Act is based upon a partisan attempt by Democrats to “Get Nixon” in 1973. The problem now is that it has backfired and a Democrat President is the victim of that thirty-eight year old booby trap.
He’s not called Mclame for nothing!

How much is Obama paying this guy?!

Are you having this same problem?
Yes, I am.
Fine, the overturn it, OR challenge it all the way to the Supreme Court. Don't recommend that the President ignore it or that Congress not enforce it!
I swear, John McCainiac is somewhat to the left of Barack Obama.
We are talking about Colón Juan, right?
(What a sphincter.)
Same old McVain....shilling for the liberal press. Did they do the interview in the straight talk express?
STFU
What a traitor to the constitution. We need to harass these lawless idiot Rinos big time.
