I remember their old name and marketing, but they are not politically correct enough to survive in this era.

Times like this, I feel like creating a politically incorrect food brand. Resurrect old favourites that are pushed aside by the Fun Police (”Fun Suckers”, as PJ O'Rourke calls them).

I remember those, crunch golden nuggets of synthetic, reconstituted stuff. A little bland without a good showering of sugar, though.

I've never had those. But I've had hundreds of boxes of these:

Oh, they're shot with sugar through and through,
Too lazy to Google - something, something - for you.
Kell-ogg's Sugar Corn Pops..
Sugar Pops are tops!

Yep, I remember when “Corn Pops” were “Sugar Pops”.

And remember when “Frosted Flakes” were “Sugar Frosted Flakes”?

And “Honey Smacks” were “Sugar Smacks”?

The word “sugar” became a dirty word somewhere along the way. If you read the labels, these cereals are still packed with sugar. It’s just not in the name anymore.

“Super Golden Crisp” was once “Sugar Crisp.”

Even Old New York, was once New Amsterdam.

I always liked Sugar Smacks. Sugar and violence--what could be better? This clown is a little creepy though--in a John Wayne Gacy kinda way.
