I'm naive, but I still have hopes that, someday, the Dem Party will grow up and produce at least one adult!

Better for it to die. And be burned. Something healthy might arise from the ashes.

A couple of well placed press releases by the administration outlining *real specifics* of new permits and expanded drilling would do better.....and last. Real policy changes could kick the bottom out of oil prices without a new barrel of oil coming out of the ground for months.

Speculators KNOW that Obama is out to destroy the energy producing sector of the USA. And they know that this is coming from the man that has [nearly] single handedly crippled US oil production and is systematically destroying future production. 30 million bbl, 60 million bbl don’t mean squat in the long term, not even the middle term.

60 million is 1 million per day for 2 months. BFD. He has shut down more than that in daily US production for the foreseeable future. And is clearly planning to do more damage to production.

Yep. Someone apparently convinced the globalist, political retards that making oil cheaper in Europe would lend more longevity to the debt regime here.

I had to sleep on your comments and think about them. While I doubt that anything healthy would ever arise from the ashes of the Democrat Party, I understand the sentiment.

Many years ago, when I took Psych 101, my instructor provided us with a scenario that sort of applies to this. The scenario was this: suppose everyone made $50,000/year? EVERYONE. Then, you got a raise to $50,050/year. All of the others making $50,000/year would now, by default, become the "poor" and you, because of your raise, would become the "wealthy".

The moral of the story (as it applies to this discussion), is that there will always be those who believe that they are entitled to share what you have earned and worked to achieve. This is at the heart of the Democrat Party's philosophy (just as it is at the heart of Marxism. Hmmmm, could this be a coincidence?). I would like to be able to share your wish for something healthy to arise from the ashes of the Dem Party, but human nature says otherwise. And, the more "entitlements" the Dems (and their RINO counterparts) dream up to buy votes, the less we rely on ourselves and our achievements. Frankly, I don't ever want to rely on the government for anything other than protecting me during war time. Aside from tht, I want them to go away and stop stealing from me.

(Sorry this turned into a rant!)

Thanks for the thoughtful response to what was, basically, a throw-away comment.

There was a time, though, when the Democrat party was not driven by Marxist impulses. It was legitimate to believe that the Democrats and the Republicans both wanted what was best for the country, disagreeing only on the mechanisms.

Today, though, that Democrat party no longer exists. And, in fact, neither does that Republican party -- which was, indeed, an assemblage of comfortable country clubbers.

Somewhere between 1968 and 1972, the rioters outside the Democrat nominating convention in Chicago moved into the party's leadership -- and now own a radical death grip on the party.

Radical socialism is now the political platform of the Democrat party. The New Dealers are simply a voter demographic that is steadily dying off. Dialectical materialism is the guiding philosophy. And totalitarian power has become the objective -- a necessary aspect of socialism, since human nature will not accede to socialism without coercion.

Now, this Democrat party deserves to die -- to be squashed like a bug. Then burned. Then buried. And, hopefully, something positive will arise from its ashes.

Since, certainly, in its absence, the Republican party will inevitably become corrupt...

I couldn't agree more.

And, the GOP is already corrupt. We're basically on our own.

Back in May, sorry I don’t have a link, Goldman predicted $5/gal gasoline in July. What happened to that? Is that prediction somehow linked to these latest shenanigans?

Keep yer head down.
