Why Palin Can Win
The American Thinker ^ | 6/25/2011 | Robert Eugene Simmons Jr

Posted on 06/25/2011 6:09:09 AM PDT by Lakeshark

One of the most talked about subjects in politics is whether or not Sarah Palin will run for the presidency. It's frankly anyone's guess which direction she will go with her decision and when she will make the decision. However, if Palin doesn't run it will be a disaster for the Republican Party and quite possibly the country
*snip*
In watching the coverage of the announced candidates, the alarm bells should be clanging violently.
*snip*
If Sarah Palin doesn't run for president, the operatives in the media and Beltway establishment will have learned a fool-proof method of destroying any political opponent.
*snip*
When the political calculus is done, it is clear that Palin is the only real conservative with libertarian leanings that can possibly be elected in the country. Although there are other conservatives with promise such as Bachmann, Cain, and West, they have not been subjected to the vetting that Sarah Palin has and there should be no doubt that the media will do everything they possibly can to destroy them should they win the nomination.

“Sarah is far and away my first choice. I’m not even sure I have a second choice at this point. “

Well said. I’d follow her into Hell if she’d lead.

She read the Tortoise and the Hare. Let the others spin their wheels and spend their money. It will be Sarah who crosses the finish line without ever breaking a sweat.

They did the same thing to Dan Quayle for the same reasons. Sarah has come through it far better and stronger.

“Rush has been speaking a lot about the people who say “I love Sarah, but.....she can’t win.”

Rush is becoming a has-been. Selling tea, constant commercials and nothing but economic conservatism and Republican politics.

What is the problem with Rush selling tea? Its not new, remember the ties? I still have mine and it is a work of art. If you have a problem Rush selling a product then just don’t buy it. I applaud Rush in his effort to stimulate the economy and employ a number of folks in producing a product. Its called capitolism.

And if she takes West as her VP, I will help carry the gas can.

Here’s the money quote from the article: “Although there are other conservatives with promise such as Bachmann, Cain, and West, they have not been subjected to the vetting that Sarah Palin has and there should be no doubt that the media will do everything they possibly can to destroy them should they win the nomination.”

Absolutely, completely true! And you can add Perry to the list as well.

Palin has taken all the hits they can come up with and keeps coming back stronger than ever, to the point of making them look silly with the email fiasco. When cartoonists start to feature the media as the fools, you know you’ve scored a major victory.

Show me one other current Republican candidate who’s come close to managing that feat...yep, she’s an airhead, for sure.

I log onto AT every night before retiring for the night, and you will occasionally see one of my replies to those articles that really appeal to me. This was one.

However, in going through the replies there just moments ago, came across this one that has concerned me for some time:

I would like nothing better than eight years of President Palin. But there is an "800-lb gorilla" in the room that impinges on the media's impotence and that I have not seen mentioned virtually anywhere on the net. Andy Stern's infamous comment, that when the power of persuasion fails you use the persuasion of power, as applied to the Left's inability to successfully attack Palin with words leads to the question of what the Left will do when it finally accepts that words have failed them. I fear for her safety, and that of her family; I really do. She is unique in American politics just now, and with no moral constraints at least some on the Left will be drawn to a solution that, to them, will seem obvious. We would be hiding our heads in the sand not to acknowledge it and do what we can to prevent it -- which is, chiefly, raise public awareness of the attractiveness of that option to her enemies. Shining the light of day on that possibility makes it less attractive to them; so we should be very loud about it. Our pride is worth less than her safety. As an afterthought, I would tweak one of the author's statements, above. He wrote: "To the media, facts are unimportant so long as the story forwards the agenda." I think it is more accurate to say: "To the media, truth is unimportant so long as the lie forwards the agenda." I realize, that's pretty strong -- perhaps too strong for the purposes of a reasoned narrative. But is is more accurate. show more

I’m going to disagree with you. What was said to you was a clear “fishing” comment. That person loves Sarah, but is afraid to say it out loud for fear some of the liberal “friends” will find out and make fun of them. People are doing that all over the place. They drop hints and want to be validated in their feelings. That is why those of us who love and trust Sarah must feel free to say out loud and clearly that we believe that Sarah will make the greatest president since Reagan.

I’ll be voting Liberty, our Constitution, American Exceptionalism, National Security, Unborn Children, Justice taken to the Corrupt Politicians and on and on.

I’ll be voting for Sarah Palin....... the one chance we have of averting a Civil War.

I think you said what many of us think and will not give voice to because we want to believe it is unthinkable. So we push it somewhere to the dark part of our mind, and we pray. We pray that G-d still loves this country and will protect what we hold so dear. There is no other route for us to take because Sarah knows this and she wlll run in spite of it. Fear will not stop her and it shouldn’t stop us either.

I also want Sarah to declare on July 4th, but some Freepers have alerted me to the likelihood she is waiting until July 26th.

She turned over the AK Governorship on July 26, 2009. Some Freepers have said that there is a 2 year deadline to file investigations regarding her time as Governor, as they were aggressively doing which caused her resignation. The thinking here is that she will wait until the deadline of July 26, 2011 has passed so here candidacy announcement won’t prompt a new avalanche of investigation requests, being past the deadline.

This is sound logic, and I’m convinced this is what Sarah is waiting for.

As for those who think she won’t run - she is doing everything a potential candidate would do, and then some such as her restoration tour. She is running and I’m voting for her.
